Anybody remember what that white/gray/brown stuff is? Aside from yucky? It was all across northern AZ, NM and TX yesterday & today. And where are we? I-40 eastbound. Of course.
We stopped at Oasis RV Park west of Amarillo tonight & the winds have finally dropped from the upper 20 mph range to maybe single digits. Phew! At least it was a tailwind most of the day.
This place has parked an old RV at an angle in the ground outside their office. RVHenge? Nice wide spaces, concrete patios, gravel sites, picnic tables, & a few small trees.
Martin has to renew his non-CDL license soon, so he wants to go by the DMV on our way home instead of going back another day. It's very efficient, but does put a bit of a push on proceedings. 😕
Glad to hear good news of both Bonita & Gwen, plus that from jfjr (Jim & Paula. That took long enough!)

Richard the roof heald up great. Many large limbs down, neighbors had trees uprooted. Had to do some fence mending before the cows found the gap but all is well. Power across town was out but ours just flickered.
Had 5 of the grands over to help me celebrate my BD.
I'm tired!

Hey Sue
Are you following us? We left Oasis 3 nights ago. Did you try their pizza? The angled RV is a play on the nearby Cadillac Ranch art installation (a row of older Cadillac cars half buried at an angle). It's just a little ways east of the park on the frontage road. We spent the next night at Elk Creek park in Elk City OK, good for an overnight stop.
We spent the last 2 nights at Oak Glen RV Park on old route 66 a little ways east of Chandler OK. Nice quiet park.
Now we're at the Big Red Barn RV Park off I-49 just south of Carthage MO for a couple of nights. Another nice park.
Apparently I-44 is temporarily closed about 100 miles east of here due to the weather. We may continue up I-49 to I-70 and east to St. Louis from there.
How about Lake Haven outside of Effingham?

ROFLMAO! If he and Sena got left alone for 20 minutes they would empty a fridge the size of yours! He looks delighted with his clever accomplishment.

Sue and Martin, y'all keep that stuff over yonder. We don't need any of it here, thank you very much. Wohmms for better weather the rest of your trip. Watch it if you go thru Arkansas! You know how much those folks like that stuff! They gave it to Tim as a BD gift. Happy, happy, Gramps!

Keep in touch when you can. I'm returning hugs, & would love to share puppy kisses w/Zorro.
Cheers!

We like Oasis and stop there anytime we are traveling through the area.
My gosh, you are only 30 miles from Mel and Kate....make it happen.

Well, yes, of course we're following you ... wasn't that your trail of breadcrumbs? Actually we knew you were headed thisaway, cuz you mentioned stopping in Effingham, but had no idea we were so close behind you.
I think we've stopped at Lake Haven before. How long will you be there, just in case we were to catch up?
