Carl, Steve, Di, et al...
I taught me photography. Focus the subject, set the f-stop for the depth of field desired, adjust the shutter speed until the matchstick meter is centered, snap. [emoji11]

Well we traveled from Logan, UT to Rawlins, WY and fought 30 to 50 mph winds the whole way. We will spend a couple of nights here and see what there is to see. The Beav is rockin though, thankfully the slides are on the leeward side, and you have to be real careful opening the outside door. But now tis time for a cocktail ...
Cheers !!!

Jeff, I have never been through Wyoming that the wind wasn't blowing. The last time was on our way to the first GC and not only was the wind blowing, but it was SNOWING!! In April! Mohms to the Beav to survive WY intact.

Ohmms for the elbow, Sam. You are the first person I've ever known to have elbow surgery. Hope all goes well and you are back to making home runs in no time.

I think Apeture priority is usually the way to go. Let the camera do the rest. Spot meter on the nearest thing that approximates a grey card, recompose / focus and shoot.

Two days' worth of ketchup to do ... oh the humani ... wait! It's my own fault! I'll send ommms and mohmmms right now just in case they are needed.
My current environment looks like this:
It's sunset over the Corn Desert and grain elevator nearby. And if I don't get a move on, it'll be dark before I get to the house!
Cheers!

Well, thanks, Barb. It's not a big deal, just bursitis...the worst one of the Sitis Brothers. I had the right elbow done in Feb.and may be able to get the left one done this Thursday. I don't like having a golf ball under the skin on my elbow. It's been a while since I hit a home run.

Not quite that long for me but well over a dozen years. I've had to re-read everything three times to help it sink into my head.

I sure wished taking that shot of the moon was so simple...

Now you're doing wedding photography! LOL
The autofocus system on my camera is modeled after the D5, which is some high-end $5k system. It's got so much behind that engine that it's the toughest part of learning this camera. So many options for so many situations, spot meter is very specific to certain scenes. Terrible for wide angle shots or landscapes.
And don't worry, I have no clue what I'm talking about, but I can sure quote from books

We were at the Mirage (Carnegie Deli). Manged to get out with $400 of their money and lunch and pay for valet parking (They actually charge $15 to valet.)
Yep - the Skin Cancer doc froze 11 spots and took a biopsy of another. He thinks that may have gotten it. Looked like other non-issue things in the past. Will know for sure in a couple days.
You know where we are. If the doc is close give a call and swing by. Have RV Tech coming at 8 so we'll be up.
