Dave did you know there are 250 types of dandelions? Some have small, shallow roots -- those can be pulled. Even those with the monsterous tap root look better while I'm there. I've discovered Roundup is my friend with those. I pull the tops and dig down to the root and add Roundup in the hole before covering it up.
