I went to RV park reviews to see what others say about this park. They have 600 sites! That's bigger than many cities I've lived in. Most of the negative comments were about confusing, dusty roads, the number of people everywhere and lousy paid wifi.

We're mutants. We don't need no stinking RV Park Reviews. But we don't need mice either. One mutants heaven is another mutants hello.... Hello....

It's only a week. We can all endure just about anything for 1 week - As long as there's 50 Amps and FHU.. and hopefully phone service. Especially when a curiosity is in full swing. And most assuradely if it's a Grande Curiosity!

Well we can chime in , I think option #2 would work for us, we had planned on leaving MI sooner than that next year, but would stay if there is going to be a GC. I have spent all day running Mom to Dr. appointments and DW has been running the DIL around shopping I think I logged in 300 miles in just local driving ... lol ...

Cheers !!!

JMHO but . . . Many, many day trips will be taken creating opportunities for finding wifi at some locations. Many mutants have wifi "hot spots" which solves many a problem. The office/store has free wifi at the cg.

Location, location, location . . . . . at an affordable price per day. woot woot

Sadly, rodents are a challenge for us anywhere. Remember my daughter's Prius was totaled by a rat in her driveway just north of Seattle. I do admit there was an abundance of them in Idanha but that probably was a result of the fires in the mountains and not something Jim and Laurie could have changed.

I like to check the reviews, but take them as other people's opinions realizing that everyone has a different standard. Based on the reviews I would stay at that campground, but I wouldn't stay at one rated below a 5/10 that had several recent reviews. It's a useful tool, but not the only decision maker.

Michigan schools end their summer break with the Labor Day weekend (September 3 next year). She said that the cg is usually maxed out in August.

Waterfront sites are small (50' x 25'). She said that only 30 amp is available and there's really not room for the tow vehicle. She recommended areas 18 and 19 that is near the rally pavilion. The pavilion would be ours to use for $200.

Areas 18 and 19 are for big rigs. 50/30 amp with FHU. Rates have not been determined for 2018 yet but this year it's $34 + tax. This area is a 5 minute walk to Lake Huron and the lakeshore is open to all campers. No firewood can be brought in to the park A firepit and wood can be brought to each campsite and there's a charge for wood. A large load of wood can be delivered. Of course, if no fires are allowed due to drought, well you know the routine on that.

When we establish a timeline for our GC and call Marisa with the dates, we have X number of sites reserved for 1 (I say 1) month. If a reservation is made during that month and then cancelled, the deposit is returned minus a $4 fee. So if we call Marisa in early January we have until early February to call her with our reservation. Stragglers could be added, but perhaps not in the RV Mutant reserved area.

That's what I know as of now. Make your feelings known. I'm keeping a "scorecard" on the preferences concerning dates. Speak up muteys. I've heard from CampDaven, Huntnski, Diwizi, MartySQ, Romin Romin, and Flaggship1. Choice 1: Wednesday, September 5 to Thursday, September 13 -- Choice 2: Monday, September 17 to Tuesday, September 25 - - Choice 3: You name it (give date to date info).

Talk among yourselves.
Steve choice 1 works best for us, it's looking like most are afraid of the holiday but if your on the way to the area planning a stop for the weekend is not that difficult. So what will those that don't like the holiday weekend do, stay at home? Face it fultimers your going to be somewhere.

I'm not saying we can't make the second set of dates, but we might not talk to anyone during that week! Oh wait that might backfire.

Yep... mighty tired a little motion sickness but ok.

Left Riverside California Sunday 7:00 pm, drove to Kingman Arizona.
Slept 4 hours drove to Amarillo Texas, stayed at Wal-Mart, Monday.
Left Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri behind us today.
Parked 40 miles inside Illinois boarder at rest area.
293 miles left on the rush journey to get back to Northwest Indiana.

You know you are knocking down some miles when you fuel up at sunrise and again at sunset.

Please continue the Oohhmms for DS she will need them as she works through this.

Ed and Jackie -- Ohmmms for your sister and BIL for sure. Please be careful driving this last lap. I feel for all of you at this difficult time.

Ditto that, Ed and Jackie! ❤️
Even my personal RVM Ohms Generator is working overtime.

Keep safe Ed. Air Force training film... most accidents occur in the last 100 miles from base... returning from leave.

We're good for either set of dates. We were planning to spend some time in southern MI next summer anyway so we wouldn't have that much of a drive.
My only concern would be squeezing in 60 feet of RV +trailer and the car, assume there are some longer spaces. Don't really need a lake view...
