September 7th we got back on the move again, Ottawa and Ingersoll Ontario with relatives, and touring around Ontario. What a great I've been just posting on Facebook, because this site is not as user friendly with pics and locations.

We just left Sunday after a wonderful visit with Martin & Sue. We stayed on their wonderful farm. They were such gracious hosts, and they made us feel at home. Debbie got to ride in a big corn Combine, she was as giddy as a child!
We also got a great tour of the towns surrounding, and some great restaurants.
Sorry, no food pics.....
Thanks again Martin & Sue for a wonderful visit.

You are so welcome, and welcome to return any time!

"No food pics" ... no, we were all too busy snarfing it down! And the food was so goooood, too!

Cheers!

Martin and Sue own a farm? I knew they lived in the country...
Now I'm trying to picture Martin in bib overalls and a Dekalb cap...
What's the British equivalent of "By Cracky"?

(I can tease - 3 sets of great grandparents were farmers - don't know about the other, Mom said it would be better not to go too far back on that branch of the family tree...)

I had to Google that to catch your drift. I suppose a British equivalent would be "Gordon Bennett" which, funnily enough, comes from the name of an American newspaperman. Your turn to Google!

Oh, by the way, I like to be known around here as a "Gentleman Farmer". So no bib overalls or Pioneer hats!

Sounds like a load of codswallop!

Let's not go argy-bargy over this.

You must have been chuffed about their visit as I know you will be when we visit.

You two are real corkers.

You guys are educating me early this morning. I'd heard of by cracky but not Gordon Bennet.

Cheers!

No, I won't, Wayne

I've just been having a text conflab with Tim, our farmer's youngest son, with whom I was riding shotgun in his massive 8 wheel JD tractor. We were towing the hopper alongside Deb and Leroy in the combine while the corn was being discharged.
He said that he was practically living in his cab now, rather like an RV, and called himself a farming mutant.
This is what I replied:

"Yes, but sans bed, sans bathroom(s), sans TV(s), sans kitchen etc. etc.
Now, I've had a thought. While you are waiting for Leroy to complete the next round, why not visit iRV2.com, sign up and then go to the "Just Conversation" forum. There you will find the thread "RU an RV Mutant too?" and you could introduce yourself and request admittance as an associate Mutant - a Farming Mutant. You will be requested to identify something that your tractor or combine does not have and that you do not miss and then declare that the next 80 acres (rather than the journey) is the destination.
Again, we await with interest."

We'll see

I don't even remember that conversation.
Like many I've had with Wayne.

Ha Steve, we might can franchise this mutant gig!

My question is while Deb was riding in the combine, was any one singing,
"I'll take you for a ride in my big green tractor...."?

Thanks for the laughs, Martin and Sue! I did Google Gordon Bennett. Sounds like an interesting character. We're looking forward to seeing you at the Little Rock GC! Wait til you see my latest trike carrier.
