Holy mother of pearl

I'm trying a new technique in scanning my new Facebook account. I look at each post. I laugh, cringe, become mystified, feel sorry of our declining nation, appreciate the beautiful pictures, dislike the posts that challenge me to share or like assorted posts (as if I'm a heathen or in need of posturing), or etc., etc., etc..

After looking at every one, I click to hide it or remove it. Two days of this techinque has, so far, spared me of rereading and rereading posts as they are shared or liked or yelled at by the other side of the issue. Hopefully, this continues to limit the volume of less-than-stellar posts.

My next move is unsubscribe from a social network that often lowers the collective IQ of America. I'm tiring of the "I've read", "Did you know", and "Listen to this fellow Americans" stuff. Geesh, OMG, what's next? More people need to exercise caution in believing what they read.

I am not perfect but engaging in this GAR BAGE is not my cup of tea.

--End of rant--

Install F.B. Purity, it'll save you a lot of crap on FB. Has a million and one options and has almost made FB tolerable other than the platform itself sucks (navigation is a joke) and it doesn't stop people from being idiots/jerks/etc., just makes it easier to filter them out.

There is also the "unfollow" option. You don't have to unfriend or block. You can then visit the page when you choose and not have it coming into your page. But it can be enlightening. Even scary sometimes.

I think I had 2 or 3 scuffles and learned my lesson. And sometimes it seems unavoidable... like wow. I didn't see that coming. And while the search is terrible - etc - it is an easy way to record where and when did we...

So Papaw Steve - like anything else - less than perfect, and if you can't find a way to make it serve your needs, it's time to let it go.

Solid posts by youse guys.

I wish not to offend any of my mutant friends.

I don't like tired, worn out, and unverifiable opinions and obvious biases (and see them drag out for pages of posts).

I like to see pumpkin pies, cookies, other culinary delights, various praises, remembering passed on relatives and devout witnessing of one's faith , but I don't need to be informed of countless numbers of likes and shares. They reappear and reappear and reappear.

If my present technique proves effective, I will probably continue my FB scannings

I enjoy Earlene in a Wayne free world lol. She seems to enjoy it too. And, yes. I know she reads this thread. Well wonder of wonders. After almost 5 years here and 3 on the road, Annie reads this too lol. Sometimes before me. And she asks me, "Did you see what Wayne said? Earlene is a saint."

Hey Steve

Passing through west side of Phoenix Monday. Stopping at Arizona RV Salvage at 2600 south 7th avenue around lunchtime to look for that replacement door, then on to Gila Bend before dark. Sorry I couldn't plan to stay around there longer.
Just going to have to find a spot for an AZ Winter GC... or at least a lunch get-together or 2 with other wintering mutants (the Mustang loves freeways almost as much as twisty roads and gets a lot better gas mileage than the MH).

Was closing the window blind today and realized:
We have a little flamingo puppet (Mary O'Nett, an Irish flamingo) hanging in that streetwise window. Her tail end is turned toward the window. She's been mooning everyone who passes us on the highway...
As you can tell, it's late. Night, all...

Papaw Steve

Steve, you and I share the same opinion of this overly invasive creature. I guess you and I will be out of the loop and blissfully ignorant.

On FB, what it shows me is what I "culture" it to show.
Blocking stuff, even some people, is a gift!
And the cultured result is, for me, a necessary thing. The joyful pics, feelings, sorrow, and troubles of my dearest "friends" are blessed gifts to me!

Earlene always lets me know if there is anything important. Like, "Turn right, turn left, watch out for this or that." FB is no different.

BTW, I do have an account on FB and believe it or not I have one "friend." Happens to be my oldest son. So there!
