Morning all, yes it is. Happy Saturday, especially to those who only get one a week.
Cheers!

Charlene,
Di, Earlene and I started tossing around some ideas for a new RVM flag - something a bit more fun than the current RVM emblem. Can you draw cartoons?
Do any of y'all draw?

I think it should have a deer stand with wheels, a barb wire fence and a Moose in shooting range!

Now your thinking, Wayne. In the tutu riding a Moose, Ed building a campfire, Martin scratching his head looking at a uprooted power pole, Dave applying band aids to trees............
Colleen and Charlene cooking, Di nursing, Deb matching up clothes, Earlean scrubbing roofs, Marcia ...........
We may need more than one flag!

I envision a large rainbow with RVM written on the pot of gold, an RV driving down a curving road and a unicorn in the field. The style should be whimsical or cartoonish. Someplace the words, "The Journey is the destination" should be added, maybe across the top of the rainbow?
But others should chime in with their ideas.

No, Larry would be a shocking personality in the pool. Not a good scene for anyone!

Friends. I will never fail to be amazed at how small this world is becoming what with all the odd coincidences that I experience.
Here's the story: Sue yesterday posted that we had sold our boat on eBay. We had owned it for 14 years and we're not quite as agile in getting into and out of it. Also the nearest lake is still 50 miles away. The auction was very quiet for about 5 days, although there were many views and quite a few 'watchers'. I then got a few questions from a potential bidder, called Tony, one of which was asking if I could defer pick up until after 14 June when he would be returning to his address in MN from the UK. He also asked what my reserve figure was and I suggested he started bidding incrementally until he hit it, which he did. It stayed quiet until about 30 seconds before the end when all hell broke loose when another bidder chimed in and he and Tony went at it until the end, lifting the bids another $700, until Tony won. I sent him a note congratulating him and giving my cell number to call me when he got back from the UK. (The deposit was paid withing 5 minutes). "I'll call you tomorrow morning" he said. On answering the call, I immediately realised that he was a Brit. Yes, he said, of course I'm a Brit, I live here! It's difficult to explain clearly what Tony's into but seemingly, it's all to do with old American cars and hot rods which he gathers in the US and takes back to the UK to sell. He also said that he has a house down in Bonita FL, with a dock on or near the Imperial river, and that is where he wants to take the boat, not up to MN. That is also where a good friend of ours lives and the river where Sue and her Naples KOA friends used to kayak. We then got to talking about old cars and I briefly told him of my discovering and visiting my old Jaguar down in New Zealand with the help of a guy named John Starkey who had owned the car after me in the 60's. John is also an ex-pat Brit, now living in St Petersburg FL, working as a writer on motoring topics and acting as a broker for Lola Cars. Oh, said Tony, I used to own a T70 (Lola) and I know John well! As I said, it's a small world.
Tony will be visiting us in a couple of weeks to do the paperwork and make the final payment. I have agreed to hold onto the boat until such time in August when he drives down to pick it up and carry on south. I expect we will have a lot to chat about. I don't know what arrangements he has to be living over here but he did say he prefers to be domiciled in the UK because of the much better health care system. Thanks for reading this - here's a picture of the boat.
