I hate HOA's (That is pronounced Home Owner's Association Tim.)

As Carl stated, neighbors need something to complain about. I'll wager their view was partially blocked. Ask management for a waiver while the house is being built.

On the bright side, that means Tim can't park in your yard, lucky you.

Tried.... it was second notice that did it, code enforcement was willing to ignore..... it is still a great lot, and we like it... I am sure green envy set in as there are smaller campers beside a lot if homes, just not being lived in....

Yes we are OFF the lot, into Holiday Springs RV which is 80% park models, but mgmt is very nice... have a one dog limit, but they told me to just walk them one at a time..... even went and got identical harnesses.....

Yes, I am now 67 years old, but feel better than I have since my 30’s... guess I am working the kinks out.... smile

I'd look at it as just another variety in life. It'll change when you move into the new home and all will be well. I'll quote Wayne - it is what it is and what you make of it. I always look for the positive when I think of that.

Still have a few more things to go, but the list looks better.

Safe travels, and Oohhmms.
Can you imagine the RV designed and built by a group of RVMs? Given the talents, more than 2 centuries of combined experience and ingenuity that would be one terrific Rainbow rider!

This morning I stumbled across an interesting website and it sparked the "what if" center in my brain. So at least for today I’m thinking about designing and building a new traveling home for the girls and myself.

It would technically be a travel trailer, but one designed with as many of the great features that motorhomes have - like outside storage bays. I'd use high quality, durable materials and do most of the labor myself. I did 70% of the construction on a house in rural Oklahoma in 1990 so I do have some experience. It would be super energy efficient, solar powered and have a mainly 12V electrical system. It needs to boondock well.

Rather than invest in a $50K vehicle to tow it I'd contract with someone to move it from Seattle to Quartzsite twice a year. The girls and I would drive up, maybe pulling a Casita so we could play along the way. That would mean I’d have to trade Smarty for something with a bit more towing capacity.

And of course this means I’d have to win the lottery or put serious cramp in my investment account, but for now it costs me nothing to dream and scheme.

Ok, here's the website that started this ball rolling -

https://www.escapetraveler.net

What would you design into this project?

Carl you are welcome to use my variation of Wayne's quote.

It is what it is...
Cause you screwed it up!

Much more useful/truthful variation.

Happy yesterday, Di! And congrats to you and Larry for feeling so healthy. It sounds like Florida agrees with you both despite the jealous, snipey neighbors. Do you get to see the grands often?

At the Brogdale national Apple Festival today in Faversham with DD, DSIL, DGD and DW. Brogdale is an orchard where hundreds of varieties of apples are grown. Many were on display here for tasting and purchase. Also lots of other attractions including Artisan breads, pies and pasties, Beverley's ice cream truck, interesting stationary gas engines, a wood elf making a magic wand from a hazel branch, a hog roast and a display of falconary. I don't think the afternoon display went ahead because the bird flew off in the morning and never came back, despite its handler whistling and swinging a sack of meat around. You know, that's the second time I've seen that happen in my life. Then, Sue petted some snakes. This one is a Burmese Python.
Tomorrow, we're off to do touristy things in Canterbury.

I suspect the neighbors heard Tim and Richard were planning a visit and made a preemptive strike.

Martin, was that a one lung hit and miss diesel?
Envy the ability to caress a huge snake; lucky Sue.

Sue you are much braver gal than I. I just can’t get comfortable with snakes of any size. Hope you had fun enough for both of us.

I suspect the trouble started when they found out Di was a South Arkansas Country Girl! They know sooner or later the cousin Eddies in the family will be showing up!

ROFLMAO....... Tim you must be right, the tattler called our rig an “Arkansas Atrocity”

Barb,
see them about every week, since we are not quite settled... when we get more stable, I will resume the overnights.... they do horse riding on Saturdays, so I have been going and watching them....

Facetime with the Arkansas grands more often... think they are worried about me moving.

Today we played group scrabble, cause youngest is just 4... and then i cooked crabcakes and son cooked shrimp, Followed by a few rounds of kid charades.....

...
Di you should ask those neighbors in a most southernly polite voice..

Shug do you know how many nights in a row a school bus camper s allowed to park out front of our lot? My cousin Eddy and Uncle Richard were needing to stop by for just a overnight providing they can get it started the next morning.
