Sue and Martin, You look to be having a grand time!
Beverly, you are set up for Rough camping, you don't use electric at all...Do ya? You might want your own water spigot though. Do ya have a hose? It'll all be fun. Hopefully warmer than the UP was for those attendees!

Is that a stunt plane? Did you fly loop-de-loops?

Jim & Paula will be on Cloud Nine on the 19. Had a bit of rain yesterday, but next few days will just be cloudy. Of course it's cooler now.

Tim has not said anything about the number of deer he has gotten. Maybe a slow start.

See you all soon. Be safe.

No, ma'am. That's a WW II Spitfire fighter, allegedly the very plane to have scored the last German kill. Yes, I did two barell rolls and one loop. (Sue will provide further evidence).

An instructor, a genuine cockpit, & realistic London & environs on the 3 screens in front.

He "took off" from Manston Field, a former USAF base, spent almost half an hour maneuvering & seeing the sights, then returned to Manston to land.

First time he's been able to land successfully. Good instructor.

The adjacent museum showing a German V 1 unmanned flying bomb. Thousands of these rained down on London. It was said if you can hear the ram jet, you're safe. If you hear it stop, take cover

This is what happens to the V 12 Merlin engine when it hits the ground hard.

Spitfire's sister, the Hurricane.

Together, they (and their brave pilots) won the Battle of Britain, just before I was born.

Well we were planning on a meal here at the house the 18th! The 19th I leave for a week and Mary's off playing with GKs all weekend then ball games next week. We'll do like mutants and play it by ear!

A question for all the musicians out there. If you play by ear do you sing the song the same way?

Martin & Sue, I would love to see that place! I love aviation, had a couple pilots in the family.
I especially like the old war birds, particularly the Spitfire, P-51 Mustang, and the B-17 Flying Fortress.
I love the sound of those Merlins, and Allisons at full throttle. No sound quite like it!
Here in farm country some guys competing in high modified class of tractor pulling.......have used 4 to 5 Allison P-51 Mustang engines hooked together as one power plant. WOW what an awesome but deafening roar!
Love the pics! You folks are visiting every place I would go.
Loving the guided tour!

Bill.

I played by ear......it left my hands free to defend myself.
Far as singing it, well.....I just bellered like a calf! [emoji1]
