SE of Chattanooga. The trees are bare but the shrubbishes are green. There was snow up near Mt. Eagle, mostly a dusting on the grass and none on the road.

No palm trees in sight just yet. We're working on that.

I was just about to ask: Is Plano thawed out yet? Has Little Rock lost its ice? And where oh where are Don & Sandee???

Mistletoe! I know we're truly in the south now. I remember on a trip once my dad climbing a tree just to get some for my preteen self. That's love!

Climbing every mountain, fording every stream ... following that rainbow ....

Cheers!
Sue

Somebody say poetry?

I read Steve's little song and this little ditty flitted through my mind...

Not all of us are fulltime,
Not all of us are straight,
Not all of us think bacon
is something for our plate.

But on the rainbow clearly
we all see eye to eye
that camping is the passion
not the trip nor the why

The journey is the best part
Destination, our goal.
So rope lights are ok— if
they make your RV home.

Ahoooah!!! Infiniclusive, that's the mutant way. That infinite rainbow stuck in my mind.

Pardon me if I make up words. I had a nap, so there's no valid excuse.

Atlanta was a piece of cake: I slept through most of it. Easy peasy! It's sunny now as we close in on Macon, and it's 47.9*. Five hundred miles to go...two more gentle days.

If I could just stay awake, I could get a lot of knitting done!

Cheers!
Sue

Wow, so many talented mutants showing their stuff today, day 0/8/2 (years/months/days) of RVMdom. So many new words for the RVM lexicon dictionary. Did ya get those Steve?

Some are reporting outside temps that are tolerable (sniff, sniff) while I'm just excited that it was warm enough to walk the dogs as long as we didn't get too far from the wind sheltering cliffs. We tried to walk out to the point to look at the river, but the wind was bone-chilling cold.

In a moment of clarity I remembered that I bought a short wetsuit, fins, mask and snorkel almost 3 years ago, before I took possession of my Moho, with the anticipation of learning to snorkel in the warmish waters off Key West. Today I will dig thru the basement to find them and will use them to augment my knee physical therapy program in my host's unseated indoor pool. You thought I was going to say the river, didn't ya? I'm not a total idiot, I just play one on Saturdays.

Have a most glorious day my mutant friends. Look! Up in the sky! It's the sun!.... And now it's gone again.

A beautiful sunny day here in OZ land. 64 degrees out, sipping wine while we watch the Chiefs beat up on the Raiders. Baby back ribs on the grill, but no jalapeños in the house to grill.

I have seen as many as 14 guests, meaning people not signed up with IRV2 yet, and late night and early morning hours show the highest visitor counts. No, I'm not an insomniac, just a night owl on Pacific time.

My question is this -- Would a non mutant who had read all 8,000+ posts know us as well as we feel we know each other?

I realize we have the advantage of PMing, private email and the email listserv (the spices that flavor our mutant stew) which they don't have access to, but most of us have not meet and shared private conversations. Most of what we know about each other comes from these words we type here.

Ok, talk amongst yourselves and report back. Perhaps we can even lure a few of our guests out of anominity to provide some feedback. IRV2 is free to all, no RV required, just select a username and log in my stealthy mutant friends
I see you to Barb!

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster. Want to live longer? Take nap.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: Oh no. Wine made from fruit. Brandy distilled wine, that mean they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Bottom up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have body and you have fat, your ratio one to one. If you have two body, your ratio two to one.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of single one, sorry. My philosophy: No pain...good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetable be bad?

Q : Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Oh no! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only be doing sit-up if you want bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: You crazy?!? HEL-LO-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale to me.

Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is shape!

Well... I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans...

5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Well the river would give you more exercise room, and the motive to reach shore faster, no? Does Sena have her own outfit?

Duckman, Sena loves to shower with me -- provided the water is almost hot enough to scald me, but is terrified of standing water. We shower in the pool house and she hates just walking past the pool to get to the shower.

Last summer I found a tiny salamander on top of the floating pool cover, caught it and released it outdoors. She still barks a warning when we go into the pool house. AND then... The smoke detector started chirping a low battery warning and even Lily would quiver when we were in there. I'm convinced Sena thinks it's a jungle out there and preditors are everywhere.
