Update on Steve just now from MaryAnn....
daughter flew in this morning...

Doctors say he is better than yesterday however he has some fluid in his lungs that they are treating. Ankles are swollen. He is producing more urine than yesterday but they gave him some meds for that. Our goal today is working on his breathing and coughing. He is going to have a swallow test tomorrow to make sure he can tolerate liquids.

Update just now from MaryAnn on Steve.

He was hallucinating this afternoon and he is very weak. They have to get him up and moving tomorrow. OT/PT is scheduled to see him. The timing of his surgery (Friday) was not got for getting therapy on the weekend. Jennifer (our OT daughter) did some bed exercises with him today.end quote

This morning MAW and I discussed numbers... I had mentioned to her to ask what his BUN and creatnine numbers were... They are too high, and have risen since surgery, so our discussion was more on how to monitor his numbers....

I am glad to help her understand a bit, and some questions to ask.

6pm
Excellent day today. They drained about 200 ml of fluid from his right lung. He passed his swallow test so the NG tube came out and he is eating clear liquids. PT was here and he sat in a chair for a while. He is going to be tired tonight.

There isnít really anything to see yet. Bob is here now and is getting all his tools set up. Tomorrow we go to Yuma to pick up windows and the first lumber order. The fun is about to begin.

Good going Papa Steve! Di, thanks for being our information conduit. It's great that you know so much about the medical side. Well, great for Mary Ann, not so great that you learned it all the hard way.

I'm headed out to work on Sena's cage. Her sort of "help" we don’t need.

Yes, it's been one of the best weather days we've had since Iíve been here. We should have plenty more.
