Last night Sue and I went to another of 'Simon's Soirees' at a Chinese restaurant where we had the usual shared good food and conversation.*
Near the end of the evening, Simon spotted someone he knew waiting to pick up a take out order and invited him to join us while he waited.
Patch Adams, an unusual person dressed in very colorful clothes and sporting a big patch of blue in his hair. He sat next to me and then told us all that he'd travelled over 6.5 million miles visiting nearly 100 countries doing clown tours. He eschewed modern stuff- no computer, never had a TV, thinks smart phones make people dumb, hates capitalism, challenged us to name a government that wasn't corrupt and claimed he could recite 4 hours of poetry from memory. Oh, by the way, he is a physician.
If you google his name you will come up with all sorts of interesting bio stuff including reference to him being the basis of a Robin William's film of the same name.
When his take out order was ready, he got up to leave, gave us some poetry and produced a fart from the balloon you see him holding.*
We do meet some strange people in our lives!

Sue and Martin, what an interesting "extra course" showed up at your soirée. Lucky you!

Yes, it was totally unexpected. We've found the film on Amazon Prime and will watch it tonight. Meeting strange people can be richly rewarding!
(mutants included).

You are a lucky man Martin.
Hopefully we will get to see one another this next spring once Irene can be cleared for travel. One way or another we will be traveling north of you (close to the border) to get to Ontario and our grandson's wedding next August. Hopefully by then we will be able to get the health travel insurance nonsense cleared up by then.

Wow! This thread has diminished in activity quite a bit.
Well, good morning anyhow!

Good morning Wayne!
Hugs to Earlene.
Busy time for us. I’m hindered by a sciatica attack. But it’s an old issue that likes to remind me of it’s presence. 🤪

I am one of the lucky ones. My sciatica issues disappeared when they stabilized my spine with metal rods a few years ago. Irene was a bit disappointed because that straightened up my back and I was once again over 6 feet. She gave the doctor a royal what's with that review when he was looking for approval on his work. It will make a good campfire story at a future GC.

Wow!
If I knew I was coaxing a campfire story out of hiding, I would have popped my lumbar sooner. [emoji16]

It's either that or you lot get stuck again with an a cappella rendition of some long forgotten song by Jeff and I. What would you rather, eh?

Song, song! Who said song. Want my theme song?
Dennis, you might reach 6 ft if you stand on tip toes on Irene's shoulders.

Ahhhh....capella!
But that was not 3-part harmony (by the 2 of you). Why don’t you and Jeff and Wayne do the trick on this?
For now, Moose, I would “rather, eh”?
