RVM33 here. Found out the wife is a closet mutant. She would not let me throw out the pink flamingo she got for Christmas as we were emptying the house. Had to put it in the pod. I refused to allow it in the RV though. Takes up room where my beer might go. Priorities.

Cooked a beautiful turkey breast on the tiny grill we now have that replaced the two monsters I gave away. Guess I can do without them.

Sounds like flamingo abuse! Now where is that flamingo abuse hotline number when you need it?

Yummy and ?? Curious as to what grill you are using. We will have to upgrade to something that can handle a job like that. We're low and slow cookers down here in Texas and while this little guy Click image for larger version

Will burn a steak and cook chicken - don't think a turkey breast will fit - and definitely won't slow cook a couple racks of ribs or a brisket.

They are stringy and tough on the grill.

I wonder what Falmingo taste like!

We bought a small grill at Walmart with a thermometer in the lid. The thermometer is a must if you want to slow cook something. Getting the temp right took some doing. I used a rock to prop the lid open about 3/4 of an inch. Double wrapping the turkey in crinkled up foil helps keep the temps even.

The old rock prop for the lid trick!! That's something to contend with - many people focus on high btu's on grills. They can all get steak charring hot. It's getting a low temp that's the key. Even my AOG grill - left burner only - it's a trick of pans and water to get 250 out of it. Indirect heat is the way to really cook. Hat tip for getting a turkey breast done right! I'm going try my FLUKE IR Thermometer on the grill lid. See how that works.

Heading back to casino for a little fun. Maybe try that progressive with $1.2 mill on it. You only need 9 of something I could only get 1 of last night.

Yep! I was always amazed at price variances along the way. In New Mexico last year during the chili festival I pulled over, disconnected the toad so I could get into and fill up at a small town corner station... saved .45 a gallon!
Only reason we found it, we were taking a roundabout non-interstate long-cut to our destination...

Side trip to Amish Store. Waiting on shuttle to casino. Had to bring back the goodies. Favorite so far:

Turned our mutant world upside-down.
Also - no cooling units at the store except the ones with the cheeses.

Do you know how hard it is to turn an iPad upside down to see that pic? !!! It will rotate and have you twisting like a snake in a fishbowl. <lol>

RVM34, after you have Mutated a bit more, reading anything from any angle gets easier.
Actually, I tilt the screen toward Nola and ask "wuzit say?"

RVM19, You may not yet know, but my toad is a Wrangler. Lots of t-shirts that say "Hang on! I"m gonna try something".

Well, "Hang on. I'm gonna try a Roundabout Non-Interstate Long-Cut". (actually, our normal mode of travel now; thanks for naming it)

A true mutant would lay the I-pad flat on a table, walk to fridge for a cool drink of choice, then circle around table till right is up and wrong is rong. RVM32

All RV Mutants are "true" - some are just more Apple Oriented.
