Hi, Marty
The MH is our backup plan, but getting everyone into it and situated would be quite a feat. Even the travel cages for the feathered kids are fairly big - two of the birds have a five foot wing span. To keep warm, the kids, dogs and adults huddled up in two rooms with blankets and hot beverages. We kept the birds warm by boiling water in large pots, crowding their cages together and covering them with blankets. It stayed about 66 degrees in their steamy cave, but the idea of keeping that going all night in the dark while the temperature outside dropped was daunting.
We have decided to invest in a natural gas generator for the house - we have been having more frequent power outages over the last couple of years.
Hot coffee and warm croissants...life is all good!

Got some sickies here! Our flagship is riding low in the water, Marty's DH was too generous, and others are either on the mend or just not feeling up to checking in. Let's get a mind meld going and zap them all with our famous STM good vibes. All together now, one, two, three: Ohhhhhhmmmmm. Ohhhhhmmmmmm, Ohhhhhhhmmmmmm!
All the best for each one!

What does SW FL have in common with the PNW today? Rain and more rain! All day, but gently. No wind, but chilly. Personally, I'm happy, but others not so much.
On Thursday 20 women in our CG got together and completed 15 quilts from donated materials and gave them to a local homeless shelter. This morning 4 of us finished 2 more and have yet 2 more to complete. Just in time for a week's worth of cold weather! Participating felt good, and also reminded me once again how fortunate we are.
Stay warm, y'all, the best you can. Today I haven't much to send your way but warm thoughts. This is a winter from my childhood! We haven't seen this amount of cold and snow for donkeys' years.
Cheers!
Sue

ZIP LINE: I think that if we do them all then we get a ride back to base. If that's so, then I MIGHT be game for all of them. If we have to walk back then I'll do just the 2. I'm to old to sleep on the ground because I couldn't get back to camp. Besides that, I'm also to old to sleep by myself. The boogyman might get me in the middle of the night, then how would I get home.

Sue; Have you been to Paducah KY for the National Quilt Festival? I had a charter up there one time and it was fabulous looking at all those great quilts. The workmanship was unreal. They had a category for men only, I think that they were insinuating that our quilts weren't as good as those made by the fairer sex.

They played a heck of a great game though, they just ran into a team with Luck. Being an impartial watcher I was impressed by his 'never say die' attitude even after he threw his third interception. Also your team sure ran into a whack of injuries.

NO idea but might as well have fun trying... least wise, it'll put me to sleep.
