My DH is also on insulin. From heart attack related gall stones and pancreatitis.... Which was ignored when on active duty.... Was in his medical records...
He uses both a pen and regular cause he takes 2 kinds of insulin.... His best tip to stop stinging was from a pharmacist who told him to leave it out at room temp. Less sting... Works.... And he received very little training, even upon going to a diabetes nurse.... Nothing to mess around with....
Btw.... Alcohol is sugar.... So count those drinks........

Okay, change of subject. Got the new freezer delivered today at the stick house. The old one got sick and started coffin up or dripping freon somewhere. Called the Sear guy out and he evaluated that parts and labor would be around $750 and that is only a 90 day warranty. Ordered a new one and it is in place. The old one started creeping up on temperature and at one point was 28 degrees. Still freezing the contents but I went ahead and go three bags of dry ice yesterday afternoon. Today at 5 p.m. they were completely depleted but the temp got down to 14 degrees at one point, then started creeping up again - delivery took care of that.

Sure had to hustle to get all the stuff from one to the other. Almost like buying an RV and transferring stuff on the lot

Okay, back to original programming.

Now if you know that phrase, you are OLD.

I used to be a brittle diabetic - took 190 units of insulin a day. I was miserable, so went on a serious, take no prisoners, doctor supervised diet. I lost 150 pounds and no longer take anything for diabetes.

Shots, though, aren't bad. Just take your time, double check your dose and it will be OK. The idea is worse than the shot itself. Rotate your sites like they tell you, and check your sugars on a schedule, too. Getting a handle on the blood sugar will do wonders for how you feel.

Oh my goodness I use that phrase all the time and sometimes I have people look at me like I am crazy. Our last name is Carter and I think sometimes they think I am talking about us.

Ask 20 and 30 yr olds and they think you are talking about Jimmy Carter and made a mistake not using the word peanuts.

Sorry folks, they had to change it. They took the "liver" out of the pills, so now it is; "More times than Carter has little pills."

Sorry. Busted bubble.

Much more than that, we've suspected you've been sick, as in the head for a long time now.

How's that Dave, that should get him posting soon!

Yep. Just for about 6 weeks or so..... Not long... DH wants to watch waves.... He is an east coast transplant.... He doesn't count the barge wake as waves...

Marty should get her Bob to put her garden on a flatbed trailer, and Bob you should make one for Stephanie's garden.

I have a source for some really nice Blueberry plants near where I stay in FL during the winter. Gallon size already bearing fruit were $4 last April. I gave some to my winter hosts and would like to donate some to a monkey sanctuary in WA. Amazingly some of the same varieties grow in both places. In FL they mature in April, but in WA they're picked in Sept.

Since I can't find any nice plants that size up here for less than $25, I'm thinking about putting a cargo carrier on back of the MH and bringing back as many as will fit. If you see a Moho with a garden on back it's probably us.

Dw and I get the flu shot every year. She has COPD so we just cannot take a chance.
To cheer you up Steve when I was getting my flu shot I looked around and everyone was laughing. I thought to myself what a sick twisted bunch of people. Then the nurse turned around and said sir pull your trousers back up you get the shot in the arm. Sheeesh.
