Agreed, but what terms describe groups of them?

My wife who teaches fourth grade presents collective nouns to her class as part of writing. One of the better lists is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_collective_nouns My first degree was in anthropology with an emphasis in linguistics, one of the more interesting classes covered US dialects which includes the sort of regional things as, what do you call it, a couch, davenport, sofa. Hogie, Dagwood, grinder...

RVM32 - many apologies and blessings upon your camels. The mutation of your screen name was corrected in one list but not in the other. This things happen sometime.

Roster is the one that keeps the list updated. Yeah - that's who does it. Not me. It's Rosters fault. : He's been warned.

Thanks for the list - I reviewed several yesterday in search of the right mutant collective.

My dads parents were from Illinois - and they had a davenport. My mothers parents were from Arkansas and they had a couch. Somehow my parents always had sofas. An interesting mutation in our family lexicon. The English language is fascinating and we're looking forward to picking up new words and expressions in our travels.

RVM18 - Barb and Sena
Sorry to hear the raptors put a damper on your plans. Never a good sign when large birds are circling. Have not spent much time in Idaho but what I saw of it was beautiful. I need to pull out the map and get the coordinates down - but we were very adventurous in the old B Van.

We ventured into a remote camping area in the Tetons years ago. Noticed that the road seemed to go on quite a ways so of course we followed it. It turned into a fire road - we came upon a small lake. Stopped for a bit and continued on. The fire road entered into a forest with a sign that we were entering a Scout camping area. We kept going and popped out in a beautiful farm town in Idaho. So we traveled south and eventually found our way back into Jacksons Hole - back up to Colter Bay just in time for the dinner boat ride we had tickets for that evening. We cut it close but what a beautiful place and quite a journey for a day trip. Oh - from the time we entered the primitive camp until we popped out in Idaho - we never saw another soul. That's a rarity in the Tetons during summer.

Enjoy the journey!

Whizzers! For sure. I'd reckon it is possible to figger where my stompin' grounds to be just by listening to (or reading) my patter. Up the crick a piece from here be a keen library wherebouts most my kinfolks got readin' and learnin' done.

By the way, a sofa is a "divan". It was removed from the last row of seats in "davan". Nope it is not used in the main good room either. It be on the front stoop for sittin' and watchin'.

Mutants are free to post their plans and declare "Rally" at anytime. Our plans are tight for the season. For an all invited mutant rally, it will take some planning. I have not even looked to see the dispersion of mutants. I know several are full time - some are in various states of readiness. Fear not mutants - the time will come! And you may all journey to local mutant rally's as your unschedules permit.

Steve,
It could be just you, Annie, Earlene and I and it would be a rally! Anyone else showing up would be gravy.

Pattern it after the Texas Boomer's rally's, not that any group could mimic that fine group, and the person that suggested RVMutant Rally (like huntnski) can be the Wagonmaster For Life and plan everything, arrange everything, do everything, just like Madam Boomer. Lord I don't know how she does it year, after year, after year, after year.

(Thanks Sandy)

Or no planning at all. If youngsters can do a "flash mop" we can too. Possibly a pre-invasion assembly point at a large interstate rest stop, then the Alfa-male of the pack will lead us to a nearby RV park. Maybe phone ahead a few minutes to ask if they have room for forty rigs, and if so how about a gang discount. Don't use the name "mutants" in the initial inquiry. Might freak out the office employee.

How's the mutant T-shirt design coming? Maybe a window sticker too. Like the Escapees, and FMCA member logos.

Okay, RVM2, like homework? Here's your assignment. Next time you update the roster, add the "home" state/province by each mutant's name. Those who travel full time can then update their most current location as desired.
It would be cool to see where the mutants are!
