Oops! Thought he had a Cherokee - just give the manufacturer's some time and they will get it right. Others have posted elsewhere that they were "models" for Demco and Demco used their vehicle as the trial version for manufacturing.
He should have bought a Cherokee and been done with it. hee hee!
In October 2011, Demco offered me a free baseplate if I would bring my new 2012 Smart Car to them so they could make it the trial model for that year. I was picking the car up in Plano, TX and heading south to Conroe for the winter and Demco was north, in cold country, so I declined.
I had already spoken to Smart who assured me that there were no changes made to that part of the car since before 2008. I was naively confident that the 2008-2011 base plate would fit. It did!

Hey Jeff, or any knowledgable mutant or guest! Look this video over and tell me if the Rubicon driven bt the white haired granny is stock! Doesn't look like it even has a lift kit. If they can climb like that there may be a Rubicon in my future. I want to take on Utah in 2015.
Looks stock with maybe a 2-inch puck lift. Maybe. No big deal. Nothing a Wrangler Sport couldnt do. This had all to do with the coach/spotter. I would have gone a bit faster in spots.
Check out Build a Jeep to see the differences in what each model has. Save the extra $10K for other fun stuff.
My opinion, of course.
Dave
Thanks everyone for your suggestions . After further research and phone calls, it appears that road master has come out with a fit for the Trailhawk that will work with theirs or Blue Ox tow bars. You are correct Steve there are differences behind the grill between Cherokees and the Cherokee Trailhawk because of the adaptive cruise control. Jeep referred me to Roadmaster as their reccomendation for towing but I'm still investigating the Blue Ox model before I decide. Either way I feel much better now.
Steve we are headed up to McKinney on Sun. to have Jenny's shades replaced with new ones next week so we will shout when we go by.
Herb, glad things looking better on the toad. I was collecting some rope lights together in case we had to tie that Trailhauk on!
Sold an old baseplate I had to a man from McKinney, Tx last week.

Looking at many of the video posted of Jeeps crawling trails on YouTube you will see lots of granny's and grampas. I think I've caught the jeeping bug!

LOL!
I had a 99' Wrangler Sport for 9 years that I bought new. I just like they way they look, and the fact they were "no frills," less stuff to break. I never took it 4-wheeling except to test it. Thus, it was "like new" when I sold it, and got my asking price. The buyer WANTED one that was stock, and "unused."
I sold it because of the horrendous gas mileage...I couldn't stop complaining about it.
Of course it was red, like my current vehicle, and the 2 vehicles before that... And also The Vespa I had until last July when I sold it to get the base plate, and tow bar for my Element.
Now the only color I ever buy any vehicle in is "Cindy Red."
Last September when I took my maiden voyage to my Dad's in my new MH; he said "I'm surprised it's not red."

Love it, Cindy!
My Wrangler is named Red. But now I see the color as Cindy Red. I like that!
If you are imortalized, I am thrilled, humbled, and quite pleased!
Red is not just a color any more. It is Cindy Red. And that's just a fact, you STMs!
Okay, y'all, even all y'all, what color is red?
Dave, are you color blind?
I read a study on capuchin monkey color vision many years ago and all female caps tested had full color vision, but none of the males did. No wonder those boy capuchins needed to have rocks thrown at them -- as with supposedly more evolved primates, the boys are clueless
