Sorry I haven't posted much lately. Just have the blahs. Feel good after last epidural, but just run out of steam real quick. Been walking Sadie daily. Twice today, but not as far. I just can't seem to gain weight. Can't make saliva, so solid foods just don't work. Tried to gag down a can of chicken/rice soup, but the rice just stuck to the sides of my mouth. The broth was good, though.

Took my Breeze for smog inspection and drove GF nuts getting there. Seems to think I hog the right hand line too much. I do own the road; my taxes paid for it.

I knew smoking was bad for me, but I never talked to someone who actually went through the chemo/radiation. Would have changed things if I quit 40 years ago. It's just a pitiful way to try to live and very boring. I try to find small projects, but they don't last long. Sometimes I just get up and walk around for a few minutes then sit or lay down for a while. Tired, but can't sleep. I need to change sleep meds as my tolerance has gone up and it doesn't work as well.

Mike - you know you have my - and all RVMs positive energy focused on you. They don't make an Ommm meter that registers high enough for all the Ommmm Ommmm Positive Strength Energy and Perfect Health Ommms heading your way right now and for the foreseeable future. The patch is working for me and your worlds are etched in my memory. All the best to you!

So - you own the right lane.... Well - I sure wish I could find a way to clone myself and hop in there with ya and assist in getting you and Sadie to the GC at CL in April.

Hang in there and keep in touch. We're thinking of you.
Steve and Annie

Thanks, I feel better.

This is a dune weekend, but with 90s, there is no way I would go. Ok when driving, but if you break or go back to camp, you cook. It does cool off when the sun goes down, but none of us like the idea of running the AC between dune run.

Mike, I was wondering where you got to. We are sending you as much positive energy as we can spare. This has been a winter for the books, and I think it is sapping every ones positive thoughts. Have you tried that new spray or mouthwash for dry mouth, I think it is called Biotene or something close to that.
Cigarettes make bad things happen to good people.
I hope you get to feeling better....The OOOOHHHHMMMMM chants are loud.

You guys have that relationship too? Wow I was thinking I was lucky all this time. Maybe it's just the husband training I didn't know I was getting! Geesh

Except for one week in December, this has been a very mild winter in Phx.

I use Biotene all the time. Helps, but doesn't last and does nothing to help eating. Have a prescription for Pilosomething or other for dry mouth and it sucks. Makes my mouth sticky, blurs my vision and says it may take up to 12 weeks to work. Sorry, don't need the misery for 3 or 4 months, if it even works.

Did you mean the patch? I use the Sam's 21mg and sometimes go two day between them. I can tell when they start to wear off.

Mike, sorry to hear you are still feeling awful, glad to hear you are hanging in there. Being unable to just go have a drink and a nice meal is exasperating. The energy thing will take a while but it will come back. I understand the boredom. It will pass and you will get back somewhat your old self, and you will also find some new things to take joy in.

Run that a/c and do whatever it take to be comfortable so you can be able to do the things you want.

Oops - and yes. Went back and edited. I bought the 6 week kit - 2 weeks of 21 mgs - 2 of 14 mgs and 2 of 7 mgs. I'm on the 7's and not noticing any draw down effects. That said - my bout with the flu gave me a solid kick start in quitting. Not being able to breath is eye opening - and potentially closing

I may get another box of 7's if I have any issues - but not anticipating that. Just know that I can't go back to that habit - no matter what.

Trying to control my weight and diet while quitting is partly due to weight gain people seem to have when they quit smoking. I just can't afford to gain the weight. So knuckle and buckle down time for me...

Slickest1 (Dennis) had a friend that took over a year to recover. If I had some projects to keep me busy in my machine shop, it would be much better. I love being active. My nuts, bolts, washers and screws are already sorted.

Just typing more has helped better my keyboard skills. They were getting a little rusty. Same with spelling.

I may see if my GF will go on a short road trip with me to build up my confidence and see if I can endure sitting for long periods of time.

So.....where's my weight gain from quiting. I'm just using the 21s, Not strong willed enough to completely quit. Maybe I'll look into the steps.

I was told I would loose 30#s with the treatments. I'm down to 102. You can only force down so much Ensure in a day without getting bloated and nauseous GF is trying to quit and is using those misters. Didn't believe me when I said I didn't have a cigarette in the house.

What got me to quit was sniffing an ash tray and just moving the tray, smokes and lighter out of sight. I was up to 3 packs a day.
