It certainly has a reasonable route east bound probably puts at closer to 6 hours traveling to CL with 2 stops for my dogs. Cooper's Lake is probably about 4.5 hours with a stop in the middle for my dogs. LOL

I don't want to sound like I am trying to drive this train too hard but Sandee and I certainly want to find a place for 6-7 days with a bit more "atmosphere". We well be 6 days at MCD and I suspect be happy to leave a parking lot. LOL
I agree Don - I plan to meet you at Coopers Lake on the 22nd provided my Scouting Report proves out. I was suggesting the other place for Jeff amd Marcia since they are visiting a friend in Frisco and this is about the same price - and 25 miles closer. Their focus is likely to be a little different than yours. It would also put them 25 miles closer to Coopers Lake - and if they wanted to sleep in - could caravan with us when i knock off work around 2:30 on the 22nd.

Hi Herb,

Yeah that park is close to 35 its called the Wagon Master we would be there a week or less. My buddy is in Frisco, we won't be spending everyday in Frisco because its 35 miles each way. Its near 380 so a good shot towards McKinney and Sulphur. Springs. But it is a reasonable price, if you can check it out it would be a big help.

Jeff

Well my Mutant Brothers and Sisters,

It's been a long beautiful day. Barb and I hung out at the ballpark watching one of our grand-daughters play their first fast pitch select series of the year. Our son-in-law Trey coaches their team and it's off to a good start. They won 11-0, 8-0, and 13-0. Go American Freedom 12U!

As we press on in to March the anticipation for the GC@CL is starting to build. We can't wait for April to get here and meet and greet a bunch of
old new friends. It's not too late for any of you to make plans to join us. If the new Bionic Women aka Barb aka okmonkey can drive in from Washington State that alone is reason enough to come join us. After all, how often do you get to meet a bionic women and her sidekick monkey?

I'm sure everyone is ready to see this crazy winter to be leaving us too! Can't come soon enough for you guys up North. Come on Spring!

Yes sir sure did. We are pretty flexible Steve so we can go with whatever everyone wants to do. I haven't talked to Wayne yet to see for sure if they are coming to Ft Worth before we all head out but again we are flexible.

I had gotten the feeling the boss had spoken - and Wayne and Earleen were going to be nearby. I know we all like to limit our daily drive time and thought the trip from your side of town to Cooper might work out well. Even though the trip up 75 to 380 might turn out to be a little longer than direct to 30 and north - it might be a better overall trip to break it up a little.

You can assess that and check with Wayne. I think TEFFY may be in as well but I need to talk with him again. I talked to him Friday and a stop over up this way sounded like a good plan for them.

Yes I will definitely talk with Wayne to confirm their plans but we certainly are game for an early hookup with you guys before we all caravan north.

Spoil sport.

I just looked up the sites via "find close places" feature in my S & T 2013. I think there are about 14 camp grounds in that area within 20 miles of the city center.

Good Morning All,

I will go Wednesday to check out Cooper Lake. Ginny has a doctors appt. today and it is suppose to rain tomorrow (not good for pictures). If the Cooper Lake area works out we will either come over on the 22nd and spend the night there or come over and leave from there on the morning of the 23rd. It would be much better to take 19/154 to I-30 rather than everyone to backtrack to Paris. Also there is a Pilot/Flying J at Hwy 19 and I-30. If anyone needed to stop for fuel, propane etc.

Steve,

Not trying to get you not to check out Coopers Lake but I know it is a distance from Plano. Just wasn't sure if you want to make that drive. If you do we can have a mini-mini curiosity with a lunch stop in Sulphur Springs.

Jim
