Also, found out our twin grand-daughters will be in Fort Collins for Fast Pitch Nationals so we must attend! Any suggestions on sights to see while up there?
Hey Herb and Barb!

Been a long time since we have been to CO, but many places there are on our bucket list.

Fort Collins is close to Rocky Mtn Nat Pk. Not too far is the Mofat RR Tunnel, Florisanf Fossil Beds Nat Mon, and much more. Do you like train rides?

www.colorado.com has lots of neat stuff. You will not run out of things to see and do!

Or quite possibly relatively irrelevant and yet somehow curiously contemplative. I am feeling the need to ponder.

I have to second RVM18 - Barb and our mascot Senas thoughts on Florida in July. As a fellow mutant from north Texas - I suggest New Mexico or Colorado. Finding suitable digs may be easier there and the weather should be a relief from what we'll have here or in Florida at that time. If you stay long enough - you might get back here in time for our "fall season". Just a thought. But following the weather is a high priority for this and suspect many mutants.
Cimgrats again on a fine rig!! Keep us in the loop!!

We are leaving because it is already triple digits in Vegas; last place we want to go is excessive heat , high humidity, AND bugs....

We have decided no on any southern route. So now we are flipping between I70 or I80
to cross the Rockies. It is the DW's turn now...should I call backflip?

Quiet.

Hey Sue - my Annie is from Illinois - but her family doesn't say y'all. Where'd ya pick that up??
Can't say for sure. I have spent time living in NC, VA, and South America. Any influences there, d'ya reckon? My "I" comes out "Ah", too. That's just bone lazy on my part!

My grandmother was raised in Southern IL, and there were some very Southern things about her. (I don't believe that word ever passed her lips, however; she was too much a lady.) I still love grits her way: cooked, cooled in a loaf pan, sliced and fried, then served with butter and sometimes syrup. Soul food!

Where's your Annie from?

Okay, I'll go be quiet now.

Cheers!

I can't advise you about I-70, but I just came across I-80 and the winds in Wyoming are WICKED. I was heading west though and had 35mph head wins. Often the cross winds, that are everywhere, almost pushed me off the road. You might want to check the weather reports for both routes before deciding.

GOOD idea. Thanks for the advice. I always noticed the snow wind breaks, but we have never experienced high winds. All though we did get caught in a white out one time, no wind just a sudden dump of snow for about 40 minutes. We normally use 70, it's a very scenic drive, as long as you time fuel and time right to get through Denver without having to stop.

Now I need to ponder even more...

Back in my truck driving days, Wyoming was a state I often ended up driving through, and I observed no matter what direction I was driving, I ALWAYS had a headwind. They have weird and wicked winds there. They need to plant more trees.

Sitting bored in a hotel in AL (softball games rained out), I said "How hard could this be?" I have to admit I felt very stalker-ish looking at everyone's profile,...but there you have it. Feel free to edit if your info is outdated.

There seem to be clusters in TX and OH, with scattered mutants across the rest of the map. I'd say Mutant Rally location is wide open.

Oops, RVM24 needs to edit our profile. We haven't lived in NC for a year and a half. We are South Dakota "residents" but home is wherever we are parked. From now through Labor Day that is Oregon.
