OH MAN...I'm picking up jacks for a quick weekend with family...don't make me turn my bus around and find you guys...I don't have enough available annual leave to spend on such a tasty sounding adventure.

I look forward to hearing of your adventures, and a pic or 2 along the way.

But now, the serious part. Do you have a mascot? Sena is our always active, perpetually entertaining monkey. And we have many more. Cant remember them all but there is Rocky, Sparky, Stoned, and even a rubber chicken!

And most serious question of all, do you have rope lights? ;-)

Again, welcome, and Happy Trails!!!!

Hello All,

We dont have a mascot as of yet, but I suppose a stuffed "Beaver" would be in order, we did have a raccoon puppet but our grand daughter wanted to give that a home and we did have a spider living in one of the window channels but the DW zapped it with our electric bug zapper so that is out as a mascot as well, we laid our huskie to rest last January, and my DW's best friend adopted our 13 year old cat, we decided that traveling pawless would be best. We dont have rope lights, and personally I can see absolutely no use for them unless you want the person you tie up well lit as well, I do have a halogen trouble lamp for now but hopefully I'll never need that.

One of the best things that I like so far about living full time in a MH is being able to have a place to visit like iRV2, I have had many questions answered and problems solved just by looking them up on this site so thank you one and all for that.

The first story I'd like to share is that when we found this coach in Pomona, CA and we decided that this was the one for us, I wanted to drive it around Pomona for a bit and put some extra fuel in it. this was on Dec. 28th. Well the owner said swipe your card and I'll put the fuel in. So thats what we did, but unfortunately he put in 25 gallons of E85 fuel and not diesel. I didnt know at the time he was doing this, anyway I drove it back to the campground and then we sealed the deal so to speak, and we then drove back to Palm Springs to visit with family. When we went back to get the coach of course it wouldnt start and thats when I determined that the wrong fuel was pumped in. I contacted the former owner and he agreed to put us up in a motel until News Years passed and paid to have the fuel drained and filters changed and once that happened the coach started up just fine, it also cost him a set of chassis batteries as well since they kind of got toasted trying to start it and keep it running, but now that, that is all behind us things are going really well. Next Wednesday we begin our journey out of Michigan and have our sights set on South Dakota by way of the Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin and Minnesota. I hope that we can cross paths with some RVM's in the process as well.

Question : Where is it you find most RVM's and when ? What parts of the country and at what times ?

Till Later....
Cheers !!!!

" Got Bacon ?"

Just for fun,

I sometimes like to get up at about 6am and set up the old Coleman camp stove that I have had since I was 20 something, and then start cooking bacon and watch and see how long it takes for the smell to awaken the other campers around me. Is that really wrong ?

Cheers !!!!

PTJeep - funny story with happy ending!

I kicked this thread off on April 14th this year. RVM1 and I had been posting to other threads right behind each other and started playing off one anothers posts and generally having a laugh or two. Then he posted about not having things and not missing them and asked if he was a mutant. I replied yes - an RV Mutant. We had a laugh over that and the rest is history all documented in the first pages of this thread.

We have talked about trying to have a rally at some point - but as you can see by our roster - we are scattered across the country and some are full time and could be anywhere. Given we only have 39 members and our geo dispersion, a rally would probably be small but is still something to look forward to.

I'm not sure if any mutants have actually met although Sue and Don are closely located near Chicago. RVM4 gathered the mutants states it's now included in the roster. My suggestion to any mutants traveling is to post here and see if anyone is nearby. Kind of a mini rally until we can get our act together.

There are lots of great folks on iRV2 but I feel like our little group of mutants are a special family of like minded travelers - in the broadest of terms. By the way - a gathering or rally of mutants is referred to as a Curiosity of Mutants. We had a great discussion some time back on collective nouns and agreed - a gathering of mutants is a curiosity indeed.

Btw - some RVMs have rope lights and some do not. Some use them under the coach at night to keep pack rats away when staying in desert areas. Some have them as decorations. Those that don't have them, don't miss them. Mascots are the same. We have Sparky - Les has Mort - Dave has Rocky. Barb has our official mascot Sena who travels with her full time. If you did not see the post way back when - this is Sena enjoying a drink.

When ya run out of things to do - go back over the thread and you'll get to know some us pretty well. Some RVMs have joined and been quite and others not so much. But I feel confident if time and space allow - and a RVM knew you were near by, they would be Happy to meet you. Don't forget you can PM any of as well.

Let the journey be your destination!
See ya out there one day when our rainbows align.
RVM2 - Steve and Annie

Hey, Plano, you often ask for roll call to find those that haven't posted in a while, how about a roll call with current location! We may have a small curious gathering and not know it.

I'll start with Huntnski rvm32 Canon City, CO

Isn't that an inconvenience? I think the term should be "strapped to a chair". At least you would have some mobility.

I can stand or sit at desk - but can't venture from it. It's really more like chained... And yes, it's an inconvenience.
