I gave in to temptation last night (careful! Keep it family friendly!) and opened the bacon bandaids to see what the "prize inside" was. I'll also admit to sniffing the bandaids. No joy there.

Hey Suspinz,
Becareful for what ya wish for, ya know those cracker jack prizes are mostly collectors items now. I know when I was a kid that it was the first thing I looked for when I opened a box of crackerjack. Then when my kids started enjoying that good ole carmel popcorn treat, I did notice the prizes were becoming a little less than what I remembered, and now they are really not much at all. But the DW and I were in a antique shop not long ago and they had a whole shelf full of old crackerjack prizes with astronomical prices on em, go figure, it makes me think about all the ones I threw away or lost

I've been reading a thread about the longest single trips people have taken. Many over 10,000 miles! But, I noticed that nobody (yet) was complaining about something that didn't work or about breaking down (whether they may've or not).
Made me feel good. Made me feel that exploring the positivities of taking much longer trips is possible. There was a positivity in them being positive, and one Mutant trait seems to be positivity, which can only lead to more positivity. It's like a Mutant Blob spreading it's positivity (Positivity - obviously the mutant word for the day).
Well, with only so many mutations and only so many sunny days left up here in the NW, this is the month to get the rig road worthy for winter adventures and for joining that "10,000+ mile trip" club!

Hello Jack,
We are currently on the longest trip ever, since we live full time in our coach, each day is just another part of the journey which of course is the destination. I have had a few things break and some repairs that needed to be made but they have not been earth shattering or something that I couldnt do myself. So these little bumps are not enough to dampen the positives of living free and on my own schedule. Life is fantastic when all you need to do is look ahead to the next adventure. Once we leave where we are and head to where we are going, once we get there we will see new places to explore, meet some old friends and make some more new ones. Someday we want to get to the NW, I've never been to WA, OR, or Northern CA yet, but sooner or later we will get there. and it will be fantastically positive each step and mile of the way.

Bacon in toys is cool!!!
But real bacon is something a Mutant does in measured amounts, right? Never just a modicum, right?
And certainly not kummerspeck.

Hi Jack,
The sun is just coming out now on this end of the Columbia  at almost 3pm. I had planned to stay here until the end of the month, but it looks like summer is over in the Pacific NW. Boo hoo hoo. I'm going to cut my time here short by at least a week.
I only put about 8,500 miles per year on my rig and I summer and winter at opposite corners of the US. Driving 10k miles in one trip sounds like a lot of driving -- and fuel. But each mutant is wise in her/his own destinations.

Thought I would share a little bit of Texas with the curiosity. Joe Ely is staple in Texas music. First met him in Lubbock in '75 or '76. He had joined the circus and as I recall had just been nearly trampled by elephants. He had returned to Lubbock to recuperate and change direction. We will be traveling later this month when he does a small show at a steak house here in Plano - it's appropriately named - Love and War in Texas. If haven't before - meet Joe Ely.

Got home w/o incident from the rally, put out the slides, and lo & behold! The kitchen slide goes gallywampus, collides with the TV/fireplace surround it's supposed to glide effortlessly past -- thereby commencing to push off the top trim over the kitchen.
We are slightly more than Put Out. (That could have been in all caps.) There isn't much hair left on either if our pates to pull out, and there is a distinct scent of Lemon in the air.
Is this common? After replacement & upgrade of slide parts already?
Nice to be home. Just another small wrinkle in the road.
