I'm just a curious mutant wondering how many steaks KSCrude will need to bring. It's looking like a side of beef may be required.

Help, OFF Topic time.... There's a campground along 97 where it crosses the Columbia River and I was wondering if anyone knew the name. On another thread here on IRV2 there was mention of this site and it HAS TRAINS. We want to add it to our 'places to stop when' list but I can't find information. I believe it is a state or federal park and not private. Can any mutants help me in this quest?

Give me a nearby town. I will find it for you.

Try this: http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/?selec...ll&subject=all

Trains are nearby.

When me and my wife +1 kid first started camping in a pop up pulled by a Durango, WE TOOK EVERYTHING. 3 people and the camper and Durango jammed full.

The more we camped, the less we took.

6 years later, add 2 kids and now we are all packed in the pop up nothing in the car but pillows and jackets! LESS STUFF! We never used the fridge (just stored food in there) never used the water tank, did plug in for lights only. REALLY enjoyed it.

Now we moved into a 19' hybird of more space, that came with more amenities, but my wife and I still fight the fight, the shower is used for laundry storage, the microwave for bread storage, etc.

I used to camp with a genuine mutant who would bring NOTHING. It's raining, put a garbage over your head, mosquitos? Get some mud. Sunny out, squint! Guy was a real trip to hang out with!

Possum's quest

Possum,

I found US 197 crosses the Columbia River at The Dales, OR. looking at the satellite photos of the area I think you might be looking for the Viewpoint Trailer Court 3564 E 2nd St The Dales, OR ph 541-296-5797.

With a name like that you know it's been there a LOOOONG time. I can see RVs parked there and train tracks only 150-200 yards away.

It would be my nightmare of a place to park, but a train buff's dream. There are also train tracks on the Washington side of the river, but not any development.

Are not trains nearby every RV park on the planet? If not, I seem to have a unique ability to find them.

Smithers - you have wandered into the 4000+ post stronghold of the RV Mutants. If you have been following along, you know the RV mutant is one that openly states that their RV - whatever type or class doesn't have some things and they don't miss those things one bit. The RVM lives on the rainbow of the RVMdom and for us, the journey is the destination. When RVM gather together it's not a rally - it's a Curiosity of Mutants.

If you're submitting to become RVM51 - please tell us a thing or two specifically your RV doesn't have and you don't miss - and let us know that the journey is your destination too. You have already demonstrated many of the skills and abilities of the mutant family. And I did see your post where you hung some rope lights and a flashlight. You are almost there - RVM51 is yours for the taking.
