Evenin mutes! I have a ponderance for some more experienced folks. My darling DW's long flowing locks have apparently begun to stop up the drain in the shower. Question is...how can I clean it out soot will drain freely again? Wasn't sure if harsh chemicals were good for the plumbing or not since it is PVC. Any suggestions?

I hope you have plenty of frosty chilled brews on hand to fight the burn, only problem is when the peppers are that hot, they tend to burn twice, if ya know what I mean

Hey Herb,

I use regular household draino on ours, if you are at a full hook up once you rinse out the trap after the draino sits for the 15 or 20 minutes its supposed to sit, rinse with really hot water and save the rest for the next time you need to do it.

The endorphin release from chiles rivals that of a brew. Together they are a slice of heaven. As I've gotten older my tongue gets more of a burn than it once did. Guess I need to go into training.

There was a time, like when Les was in Phx, that all I could do was yell a whisper. Had to cancel meeting him as it wouldn't be fair to either of us. Thankfully voice and hair came back. Still working on most of the weight.

Go to a dollar store and buy one of these drain hair remover tools. They work well once you get to learn how they work. Push in and start to pull it back out and spin slowly so the barbs catch the hair and pull it back.
Your finger goes through the hole the barbs are at the far end.

I use a piece of clothes hanger cut to about 8" and use a pair of pliers to put a 1/4" bend/hook in the end. Easily pulls out the clumps without use of any chemicals. I use the same method for S&B bathtub as well. Been doing this for about 20 years. Works every time and takes about 15 minutes. Never have to worry about where I put it, there is always another tool in waiting in the closet!

They make a contraption that you can purchase in hardware stores. It is a very thin piece of flexible wire with barbs on it. You just use it as any "snake" and push it into the drain. It wll circle around and when you pull it out the barbs will have collected a lot of debris.

We sanitize or water supplies with a bleach solution but I'm not sure how 100% chlorine bleach would act on the system but if you pour about a cup into the drain it will disolve the hair in about 15 or so minutes.
