ELIZABETH:

I was in the bus business for 25 years and could do 500 - 575 miles a day. After we closed it down I decided that I'd never drive that many miles again. Ii's amazing how lazy one can get when not pushed to do something. It now takes sometimes 3 cups of tea to want to get out of the recliner and put the Nook down. We drive until one of us needs to take a nap, so then we look for a campground, parking lot, or BLM. Being on the rainbow is a great way to go.

Many tears ago when the Carnivalle was the only ship Carnival Cruise Line owned (1985 ?), we were out for 5 days around the Carribean and was mostly bored to death. I didn't take enough to read and I don't gamble. Cruises have improved quite a lot since then.

Have an interesting trip - I'd like to do the Panama canal. I think that that would be very enjoyable.

Teffy, perchance, do you know Jeff and Sue in New York State; inbound operators and damn good friends of ours?

Thank Goodness those days are over for me now that we have the coach. I have made many many long drives the last long one was from Tulsa, OK to Holbrook, AZ in one session, another time was from Custer, SD to Davenport, IA, and another time was from Glens Falls, NY to Montreal, Quebec to Toronto, Ontario only we couldnt find a room there so I had to push on to Woodstock, Ontario. I dont ever want to make power drives like those again.

Cheers !!!

Ya know you're going to have to spill the beans on this drink, you do realize that it is pure torture to those of us that would love to know this concoction you are partaking of.

Cheers !!!

We have done a couple of bird rescue trips in our pickup truck of 1200 miles in one day, and it's a bear.

One of my dear friends closed his bus business a few years ago, too, and now he drives as a volunteer for a couple of university sports teams. We met when we were lab partners in EMT school.

When I started contemplating purchasing a MH, I turned to him for advice. He was very encouraging and told me to follow a few simple rules;
1. It's your road and your rig. Go at your pace.
2. Brush up on the skills that you learned in EVOC (emergency vehicles operator course), such as backing into a blind alley, changing lanes at speed, etc.
3. Don't go in anywhere you're not sure you can get out of.

Now I don't remember why I was so apprehensive to drive the MH - it's easier than the truck and TT we started with!

We, too, often just drive until we find someplace to land. Wandering is one of my favorite pasttimes. You never know what you'll find.

X2 on all of those points, I agree with you that I think driving the coach is a lot better than pulling a TT, and hitching up the Jeep is even easier...

Cheers !!!

Wayne's smoothy is a Smirnoff Marshmellow Cream Vodka and Orange Juice... Simple, smooth, extra tasty, and it will sneak up on you.

[QUOTE=okmunky;1779285]Welcome to the madness, Elizabeth. I am also owned by an unusual critter, Sena, the RVM head mascot. I hope you have as much fun here as we do.

I really want to meet Sena. What is the origin of his (her) name? Most of ours, being rescues, came with names. We have Gemma, Kalea, Amadeus, Pepper, Anjo, Mushoo, Birdman and Zydeco. And that's just the birds!

And we'll all do the time warp again.

It's just a jump to the left

And then a step to the right

With your hands on your hips

You bring your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane
Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again
