Hi ho Mutants !!

Can ya believe it we have just hit page 400 with our postings and ponderances, life on the rainbow is good, we have pretty much discussed everything under the sun and then some, and i suspect we shall continue to do so, a great accomplishment to be sure.

So with that in mind I'll make a shameless plug to those of you that are not as of yet committed yay or nay to the GC@CL if you can go and fit it into your schedule it would be great if you could make the effort to be there. If your rainbow rider is put away for the winter and you just cant see awakening it for the trip they have yurts to rent. I am looking forward to great conversations, late night ponderings, and excellent food and beverages.

Cheers !!!

Hey Marty,

Seeing as you are a master gardener, you might want to sweet talk Dunner or Suspinz outta some of the Kandy Lemondrop cantaloupe seeds I sent them last summer. You have probably seen Dunners pics of his growing. The taste is MARVELOUS!

Hey Herb !!

Where are these foliage photos ? ,,,,, now I am not bragging or anything like that, but I saw some excellent colors and fall foliage in Michigan the last 5 days, and it was all excellent, but along with that lets not forget what causes this great American color show ..... Cold Weather and Freezing Temperatures ..... now remember I'm a deer hunter I like these kind of days that cause these yearly occurrences, but !!!!! I was cold those last five days in the great north, those temps are not enjoyable unless there is a fire in the fireplace and a wonderful nightcap sloshing in the glass in your hand. We must remember that there are conditions that cause those colors and are you prepared to listen to your teeth chatter ??

Cheers !!!

Quick Mom Update:

Aside from the lung cancer, doctors did a stress test on her heart and found by way of angiogram that she has to have a triple bypass before they work on the lung. So.....she goes in next Thursday for the triple bypass and then we wait for a month and they open her up again for the lung.
She's 82, but not ready to give up yet and we aren't ready to give her up! I fly home next week to be there for the operation and some recovery time with the old gal.

I hope everything goes well, but as we all know, anytime you go to a hospital, there's always a chance you're not leaving standing up.

Hahahaha Dave,

Tomorrow we move to Apache Junction. And I was speaking about you & Deb, meeting with Marcia & I and Dave & Nola in or near Casa Gande. The grand Poobah was writing about a mexican restaurant and maybe a forray into the desert somewhere, nothing cemented into stone yet, but we are getting closer and closer !!

Cheers !!!

I've got ~60 seeds, so if anybody wants some PM your address. I'll have plenty more when I harvest the two vines that came up this summer.

Thanks Jeff,

She asked us kids what we thought. We all said, without hesitation, a resounding yes to the procedure. It'll be a long recovery but a better chance than leaving it untouched. We've all accepted the reality of all possible outcomes and are making all the necessary preparations. Not a fun topic or task but a necessary evil.

I'm the optimist in the family. Cup has always been half full.

Try finding a cone of shame for a monkey!

Sena got one of the toes smashed by the door of a heavy macaw cage and the bone was exposed. So off to the vet we go and $350 later she woke up a women possessed. She wanted to pick out the sutures, NOW!

After several rounds I finally ended up sewing one of my socks into her diaper cover essentially making her a 1 legged pair of footie pjs. She needed one foot free in order to climb and not be totally frustrated. When her diaper needed changing, I would have to hold the sock at her knee so she couldn't take it off and see the sutures. Outta sight equals outta mind for Sena.

That was the longest week of of my life.
