Hey Mike !!

You were just in the nick of time my friend, that song is one of my old time favorites because of the thoughts and feelings it provokes. Maybe if you and Harriet can .make it to the GC we could share a drink and sing it off key, just for fun.

Cheers !!!

I've travelled down to Phoenix and all points west. That about as far as a 2 week driving vacation can go from where I live.

Well I guess I'm the only one on this thread that dreams of making all points cost to cost in my Rv, even retired at 57 to make it happen. Weather it be a Grande Curosity or a Minnie I do want to venture to the land of touks, or what ever y'all call a toboggan. Someday, somehow!

PTJeep-- thought we had a boat buyer, maybe still have, but waiting for the check. If we get the jib done, we will do our best to be at the first GC. I'll buy the first adult beverage. Really hope we can get this done, I'm getting really antsy.

Hi Mike,

Yeah I bet you are, keep your fingers crossed and be patient sometimes these things just take time, I doubt you will have to buy to many fifths, but we can save money mixing our own and singing like coyotes around the campfire.

Cheers aka (Jeff) !!!

Pant, pant, pant.....I can't...keep...up! This thread is a full time job.

Blizzardy today. Several inches of snow on the ground, windy and drifting, 7 degrees F right now, going down to zero F tonight, that's minus 13C and minus 17C for my fellow Canucks.

Aw! You could drive for 5 days, spend 4 days in Texas, and then drive 5 days back. Wouldn't that be a good two week vacation?

========

It is 10:32 p.m. and it is a chilly 53 degrees F outside. Darn I wish spring would hurry up and get here.

In Minnesnowta talk, it is fiffteee toooo here in Tucson. A bit better'n wutcha got up nort. Aye?

I remember those days only too well. Changing oil on the ice covered driveway at 20 below, rocking the car back and forth until the differential could make one full revolution, and ice fishing cuz it was too dang cold to work.
I remember those days, but not how cold it really was. Thank goodness!

Cheers! Think Spring. Aye?

I think I'd just open the back door and yell - Hey you ducks. Shut up. I'm not letting ya in until it gets below 10 degrees.

I just did some numbers on the GC sites settled on and proposed for 14

Tina is 2704 return miles from Catherine's Landing and 2878 return miles from Spearfish
Les is 4604 return miles from Catherine's Landing and 2184 return miles from Spearfish
I am 4996 return miles from Catherine's Landing and 2652 return miles from Spearfish
I did not do anything further east than Tina and anything west of me requires a barge, and that's really expensive.

I travel about 300 to 350 miles per day so for me its 7 days each way to CL and 4.5 to Spearfish.

BTW I've stayed at Spearfish Municipal campground and found it very clean, very attractive and nicely laid out. Streams running through the property and fish in the streams. There's a trout hatchery nearby and its within a short day to Mount Rushmore, Wall, Hill City, Rapid City, Old Faithful, and numerous other great sites.
