Also, an RO system wastes a lot of water. It takes a lot more than 3 gallons of tap water to make 3 gallons of RO water. Unless you are a campgrounds only type, RO systems aren't practical for RV use.

I dont know to much about RO water except the last time I had the magic carpet washed its what the guy used on it.

I filter our water with one of those in-line filters at the hydrant, and then there is an undersink filter that gets changed out every 6 months and then for drinking water we filter it through our brita unit that we keep in the fridge. No matter where we are we have some great tasting water, and the brita filters last about 3 months before I have to change that out. The in-line filter I have to change about every 4 months or so. Geeeessshhhhhh it sounds like I'm spending a lot of $$$ for filters but it doesnt seem like it.

It depends on what you are brewing, for cider i use 8 oz, less for chai tea latte 6 oz. and since i like strong coffee, i yse 8 oz but prefer a dark roast or even espresso. All in my single cup keurig so i dont contaminate DH coffee pot... He swears he can taste when i do exotic brew....

There's a dial on top to very strength and amount. Mild or strong, 1 or 2 cups and can even steam or froth. I'm also ex Navy and we always had a coffee urn full of strong brew. But I must say this is the best coffee maker we've ever had.

I forgot about lemon meringue pie. I think I like lemon cream better. Not as hard on my stomach. Mom made the best. I like that lemon cake with the pudding like lemon stuff under the top.

Found some Lemon Heads today. Get this; they were $1.01 total. The guy at the register gave me $18.99 in change for a $20. What a jerk. I hate myself for not speaking up and asking him if 1 penny would break CVS. Actually, when I got out to my truck, I had 98 cents in change. Either I dropped a penny or he shorted me.

If RO is unsafe for routine drinking, what good, other than washing things, is it? What are you suppose to do, have a separate spigot for city water? Inquiring mind needs to know. Not that I will ever give up my city water, just curious.

I know we have some folks from Canada on the RVM roster, but dont recall how many. Well, I found something for RVMs North of the US border. Matter of fact, it would work well in my home state of MN.

I guess she will have to figure out how much water to use. When we tested a "Breakfast" cup with 10 ounces, it was kinda weak, but how should I know what is should be like; I don't drink coffee, it upsets my stomach.

I like just about anything lemon. Cake, pudding, candy, (Lemon Heads, which are hard to find anymore), in coke and lemon tea, both fresh brewed or store bought AZ Lemon Tea, (which is made in NY). The bad thing, is if I have too much lemon, it upsets my stomach.

We are not fulltimers and the newer recycling RO units do not waste as much water as the big commercial units. Try drinking the water from anywhere in eastern Alberta, Southern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba and all points south to about I-84. That's why I am planning an RO unit.

If you buy a small RO unit for your house you end up with a small faucet to the right of your normal cold water faucet.

Dunner, we have to talk! I love lemon cream pie! I make lemon curd and then fold it into whipped cream. I make an angel pie crust - it's like crunchy clouds - and pile the lemon filling into the crust. Chill, garnish with lemon zest and slices of candied lemons - pure heaven. And then there's the chocolate version, that has pecan pieces in the angel crust...garnished with chocolate curls and toasted pecans. I'm hungry!

I put one in at my boss's house for her saltwater aquariums. The minerals in OK water were supposed to be bad for them. They cost enough that you wanted to do everything you could to create longevity.
