Way cool, Jeff. Pics or it did not happen!

Did a round trip to Quartzsite yesterday just to see the place before the madding crowd arrives.

FYI for the STMs:
Went to turn around at the RV show area, and did NOT buy the drop-dead gorgeous 2013 38ft HR Ambassador. But had fun and learned a lot over about 3 hours.

Just a quick not,
Hope everyone is getting over the crud or whatever you have
and are on the mend.

Ref. Okra.
Having been born and raised in the South, I tried eating Okra
30 years and said no way. Then DW said last year she could
cook them and NOT be slimy. They were fried, not slimy and not greasey.
So now I eat them occasionally.

Never liked grits - sand.
Until, I had some locally here in Ga. where they cooked them and added
Cream Cheese. Now they are smooth and good!

Still nothing is as good as bacon or smoked ham.

I was known for being "out standing in my field" and I was not a farmer.

But I somehow instinctively knew when it was too wet to plow, too windy to stack bee-bees, and dryer than a popcorn fart.

Guess I missed my calling.

Update - saw my doctor. He tried to get me an appointment with respiratory specialist - earliest appointment available from a group of 5 or so associated with my hospital was 1 to 3 weeks. So my doctor writes me a antibiotic script - renews the cough syrup and inhaler. Then he says - let's send you to the hospital admitting doctors and see if they will admit you which will get you in front of a respiratory doctor that way.

So we sit over there and are eventually told we don't have any beds in the hospital and don't know when we will. So you can go to emergency and they can treat you. I say - well my doctor just gave me a new set of treatment and is trying to get me seen by a respiratory person. Round and round we go - there are no beds. I told them I was not going to the ER for a 3rd time and so we went back to my doctor.

We are home now waiting to hear from my doctor as to how to proceed. I am out of work another 2 days. I have put up with this breathing thing so far and hopefully the antibiotic and more rest etc will get me on track to well. Once the north Texas flu and respiratory crisis is over I guess I will finally see a specialist. Hopefully by then I won't really need one provided I never touch a cigar, cigarette or Tiparillo again.

I was surprised there was such a long waiting list for a specialist - and they even checked the next hospital close to me in the adjacent county. The saga continues.

It has been known for many years that a medical shortage was in the making, that is not anything that slipped up on anyone. The largest age bracket group (the baby boomers) are getting to the age where more medical attention is needed in addition to the fact their living longer. All that adds up to shortage, then throw in Obamacare where more and more people will be going to the Dr. Because now they have insurance. We are now living what has long been predicted, 3week waits!

Yet the undertaker will see you in just hours when called! Go figure!

Let me not be the driver behind discussion of the ACA or other medical commentary on the rainbow. Not my intent and not something to debate here. Suffice to say, we want all people taken care of and to live long and healthy lives in and out of the RVMdom.

Steve - - - Hope you hit the road to recovery real soon.

Think outside the box. Does your doctor KNOW a respiration therapist that can see you on "overtime"? (Call in a favor from his buddy) Can the doctor's office read the manuals on respiration therapy and provide level one or level two treatments? (Every hospital has those breathing treatment devices so can he grab one of those). How about a CPAP machine and mask that FORCES air into your lungs? I'd loan you mine except I'm miles and miles away. If all of that fails, I can loan you my 5 grandkids and you can go to the waiting room of a therapist and stay there until they "find" time to see you. LOL

Seems like 1 to 3 weeks is outrageous for an acute illness. For God's sake, waiting 1 -3 weeks Mother Nature might cure it. Elective surgery can wait 1 - 3 weeks, breathing not so much.

Nevertheless, hang in there.

Not to start a medicines war but if I only had to wait three weeks to see my specialist I would be one very happy Possum. I'm presently on a waiting list to get on the specialist waiting list. Be careful what you wish for while contemplating the rainbow.

Steve hang in there and get betterer.

Yes, this thread does suffer from testosterone poisoning. I wish more of the lurking DWs would sign up and join us. It's a tough job keeping these guys in check.

We Shall See What We Shall See

Hospital Called. They have a room for me. Heading out now. No telling when I will be heard from again....

The Cell Phone may or may not work... Headed in the right direction I trust.
