There is no doubt CC is a great coach but it is going on 16 years old. While I haven't done it - Dogpatch has upgraded televisions and sound systems a couple of times and that's not expensive - but you will probably want to do it if it hasn't been done. Satellite? We sometimes think we don't want or need things like that only to find it would be nice to have. Not very mutant of me - but study your list of needs and wants and won't miss. The time to figure that out is before ya buy. Like Jeff said - the 112k miles isn't a big concern - but the records and a shop report will be worth the review and $$. Also - look for rust and any visible signs of neglect may suggest it where ya can't see it. The only other thing I noticed - and this was a quick Internet romp - among the ones for sale - there is a fair range on asking price. I didn't quantify the differences?? Hone in on that. What makes one "worth" asking more than another? See NADA if you haven't already. Again - comgrats on the sale of the trawler and starting the hunt. So are you living in a van down by the river these days? Is that putting you in a rush to find something? Again - Good Luck! Hopefully others have some thoughts and actual experience with the '98 CC. Steve here's the scoop on coach. 1998,w/1999 floor plan. One slide, excellent cond, new traveler sat ant, tires aged out, but six new tires in deal. Has four 8d batteries, two each coach chassis, one Grp 24 for gen. Will pull oil/trans fluid sample on Monday. Only thing missing is maint records. Has all manuals, schematics, plumbing/piping drawings, and equip operating instructions. Even has Webasto diesel heat along with two AC/ heat pumps. One of which is new. Alloy wheels. Needs PI Surge protection, and acc. Thoughts? Sorry to pester you but trust your advice.

Dave, I'd like to make a prediction here. I predict there will be a time, hopefully brief, where you will be ready to throw those ottomans out the door. Picture this, late night, desire for drink of water, love and concern for Nola not wanting to disturb her, you make the journey from bedroom to kitchen, now a true journey with the longer coach, and you don't turn on any lights. Don't worry your toe will surly remember to watch out next time.

No need to ask me how I know, we also have the chairs and ottomans and we love them!

Or you could put rope lights around them!

Lol Dave will quickly learn to pick them up at nite and put them in the recliner so that won't happen more than once..... an that's the voice of experience.

There's a lesson to be learned. Ladies? Can you drive the rig? Could you make it home alone? Do you know how to do everything required to get on the road? Do you know the new CPR?

My DW is working on it. She is still afraid to drive but has no trouble at all telling me how. That's going to change.

That is just awful. So sad. We are never promised a tomorrow...I'm glad she had family to care for her.

I taught my 4 boys(+ hubby) all the basics of laundry, sewing on buttons and sewing up a rip, & cooking enough basic foods they could get along without a female's help, and my daddy taught me how to change tires, oil, furnace filters, light the pilot on the furnace, and stuff like that... so, when I got my toy, I wanted to be sure I could do it all for myself and the only thing I can't do on my rig at this point is light the pilot on the fridge because it takes one person to hold the button inside and another to light the fire from outside because the starter is worn out. (another reason for having an older more simple rig...simpler systems and less to go wrong.)
I am a firm believer in being able to manage solo if ever needed...everyone needs to know the basic life how to's, and if your life is in an RV, you need to get comfortable with all that entails.... black tanks included!

Sad it took that to convince your wife Muddypaws, but capitalize on that now while the fear is still fresh in her mind.

You may want to call the CG and ask what they have in the kitchen area of the club house. Many CG's have large coffee pots and lots of other kitchen items. You may be a few pounds lighter after calling.
