My concern too, Sarah. I'm sure Mike would want her cared for, and I hope Linda feels she can do that.
So sorry to hear Mike has left us. He will be missed. OTOH, he must have sensed that he had accomplished everything he came to do. Fixed, invented, played on the dunes....
Thank you, Barb and Linda, for letting us know.
Be at peace, Mike, and ready for the next adventure.

I just chatted with Linda and she assured me that Sadie will reside with her. Linda was the owner of what she and Mike referred to as Sadie's boyfriend, but he passed away a few months ago.

There will be a small gathering of Mike's closes friends at his place in the near future. Linda will keep me and Barb apprised of what will happen and when so that a mutant or two can attend if that is their wish.
I am happy that I chatted with Mike via the phone and via PM as he was the kind of guy who was easy for me to get to like. My only regret is that we never met in person.

Kinda was wondering when Dunner rallied a little while ago. I was not surprised by the news. So often when I was nursing I would see seriously ill patients seemingly improve dramatically, only to pass shortly thereafter. Seems at the end the candle will shine brighter for a bit, before going out, a final gift. RIP, Dunner - you will be remembered by your fellow mutants.
And yes, let's hope Sadie is taken care of. She will miss him too.

I don't know why, but I seem to be suffering from "unsightly post lag" in the Yahoo group. I have replied a couple of times today and my messages don't show up; then "poof"...there they are an hour later. What the heck???

Sarah, I seldom get my own replies back to me in email form. It surprises me we I do get one. It could be that Mike is messing with us, just to prove he's still with us.

Well for some reason, now I can't get to the groups at all. Is anyone else having trouble with Yahoo, or am I the only yahoo??

It is with sadness that I find out about my mutant brother Mike at 4:58 pm today. A few months ago Mike sent me some old Jeep trail books while we were in Apache Junction. I said Mike let me come and pick them up no sense in spending the postage, he said Jeff I don't want to meet you when I'm looking and feeling so bad, so I said OK but as soon as you are able I want to stop by. He replied that only time will tell but he really enjoyed being mutant. Sadly we had go leave AZ before he felt he could have a visitor. The books he gave me are old and have info that the new ones don't have, and they have become just that much more special.
Rest in Peace Mike, your new Journey will be an incredible Destination.
Cheers !!!!

Jeff,
I really didn't ask Mike if I could drop by, I just sorta told him I was coming. Since I had mailed him some cantaloupe seeds last summer I had his address and he couldn't hide from me.
I am SO GLAD I did get a chance to meet him, but I was shocked by how frail he looked and walked.
Oh, and it was 3 weeks ago that I was there, not 2 as I posted earlier. What day is this? Is it June yet? Oh, who cares?

I've heard it referred to as Yapookie (or Yapukee, if you prefer). I've had trouble with them too.
Most recently, they repeatedly do not recognize that I belong to the RVM group. Yet when I request to join, they tell me I already belong. Go figure!
Oh well. Sigh.
