Don - did ya get my food bomb text. When Annie talked to Sandee this afternoon she was telling her about us cooking all the time. Inside - outside the RV like the ancient mutants using FIRE.... It's just part of going on the road for us. Plus we are foodies and love to cook anyway.
RVM1 and were texting about gourmet salt the other day. We have taste tested many on thin slices of cucumber. Yum.... salt
Then there are the many infused oils - vinegars and on and on.... but Marty - Sue - Di - Colleen (Sohapi's thread) are the true chefs of the RVMdom. Which reminds me - as soon as We slow down on the retiring and going full time schedule -- I have a cookbook to compile
All that was to say this - ya know we're thinking of brotha and sista.
Steve and Annie

Here ye all Mutants - near and far -
Annie has given in and on July 18th we will be married. She has put up with me for about 14 years now so I guess she knows what she's doing. I am a lucky mutant!
And that's all I have to say about that - for now anyway!!

I guess I'm the distance traveling mutant -- PNW summers and SE of Tampa in the winter. I'll leave the summer nest by mid-late September. First stopover will be Burns, OR to see the delighful family that adopted us for the night on the trip north. Then, like Dave (RVM1), I'd like to try a journey thru southern Utah. That's all weather permitting. Due to the altitude there, cold weather comes quick, but the landscape has much that is mutant
Then comes Henderson, NV to see a college friend and across I-40 to the old stomping grounds, OK City. Then south to North Texas to see my baby brother and on to Conroe, TX to see Mom, youngest brother and nephew, Kohl.
By mid October the plan is to go squat at Teffy's place in SE TX for a few days with as many mutants as we can drag along for a generously delightful Curiosity of a somewhat smaller scale than we saw in Arkansas.
From there we'll head east for a mini-C with CrowdedCampr in southern GA, before checking in with old monkey friends in the sunshine state. We'll stay put there until early April.
Anyone tired from just reading all this? Oh, and don't forget about all the history and sights to see along the way. That's what makes the 3500+ mile trip worth it.
I may have to get a crank organ and a cup for Sena to take donations if gas prices don't start coming down.

Thanks Dennis. So the trout fit two to a pan but weren't too tasty huh... So here's the secret recipe for camp cooked fresh trout.
Find large flat rock (or two). Build campfire. Get rock good and hot. Toss some bacon on rock. Toss trout filets on top of bacon. Be sure smoke and bacon are generously applied to to filets - add a little pepper - salt if the bacon didn't do that job - and if ya have a lemon ok - but if not you won't miss it. This is my mutant trout method. Been doing it for years. It does take just the right flat rock though....
And thanks again! Glad ya got off and stretched a line. Fishing is mutation in motion!

Let's just say that perhaps we are in the right place at the right time and can improve the situation we landed in. Never the less, we are in a most stressful situation. We didn't see that one coming and are still trying to sort it all out on what we need to do next.
Thanks for your support. It sucks when there is a crack in the rainbow.

Yikes! Who said "Life is what happens when you are making other plans." Can certainly sympathize, still trying to sort out the fallout from daughter's health issues and the longterm ramifications for our future. Hope things work out for you. Positive thoughts heading your way!

Thanks Les! She's flying home to mom and dads next Wed and won't be back until 7/9. I'm thinking if she comes back it's a go.

Thanks Barb. I've always been honest! Always been male - but still more a little kid than man. But I act big and grown up sometimes. It is hard to maintain though.
