Mekanic .... some hippy designed school bus conversions have the rear porch "option". The bus rear emergency exit door opens out on the fenced in porch/patio. One that I saw was very well done.

Early in my dreaming of a bus conversion, I whizzed up an AutoCAD concept of a roof deck with folding railings, and awning cover. Access would be from interior ladder and roof hatch. Honestly it was not rocket science, and totally "doable". I'd picked out an Eagle 15, 40' bus shell for the conversion, but someone else beat me to it. OK, I was too slow on the draw with the wallet.

If I were not so creepy old now, I'd love to revisit the project and end up with a super viewing patio (8' x 40').

Moonrover, I too dreamed of converting an old bus into a motorhome. Was it not the dream of many children of the 60’s? Maybe that's why I ended up buying an RV. I didn't have the time, tools or skills to build my own, but I did get a small inheritance that made up for all those shortcomings. This is the dawning of the age of Aquaris... 50 years later.

Rear entry door. Do I really want one?
I have removed my roll-up door so I must build a back wall.
I do have a 19 X 33 emergency exit window that would look fine by its lonesome.
I also have a modern "No Frame" 18 X 48 Vertical window that if I used it
with a entry Door would look good.

My real concern with a back door is that I don't want to spend/have the money for a RV/moblie home door. for half of that I can a get a nice exterior house door.
Why I think one would be nice is that I could build a fold down Porch floor 7 X 7 Foot size. and have a folding porch roof of the same size.
odd thing is that this back door would open to the middle of the bathroom.

So what do the mutant crowd say?
Hmmmm. So a ponder wrapped in a ponder it seems... Do you miss the door you don't have or is the door the catalyst to the porch you want? Or is it the porch you miss? There seems to be some deep rooted questions I would want answered concerning the motivations at play here.... Come to think of it - having a S&B door could be a hidden desire as well.

Now I do know in houses there is a term - I believe it's functional obsolescence - for example - having to walk through a bathroom to get to the kitchen - or into the garage to get to the bedroom door of an addition. I'm not sure it's the same for your U-rig and I do think a back door and patio sound nice. Wish I could be more help... But and for perpetual mutation!

PS - on the stripes - I like the classic you posted. That's an easy one - stripes!

On the road again. Only six pages to catch up on. The coach is rolling good. Stopped and squatted in Jeannie and Dave's driveway. Nice and level. I'll send them a check for the electricity. I didn't use their water as the price was to high.

He stands there and I drive off. A minute later my cell rings, and it's him asking me to come back. When I do he quickly climbs up on top and reattachs the AC cover. The service dept. had left it off! He saw it as I was driving off.

My conclusion at the time was that these repair places are slave driving the workers so much they can't focus.
At one time the dealer I do (did) business with had some very good technicians. Then they changed their pay situation. Instead of token salary and commission, the just went with token salary. Most of the quit and the ones they have now just don't seem to be up to the standard.

Same dealer a few years ago changed out a slide motor on our big slide. It has two motors. Problem was, they change out the good one with a new one and left the bad one in. Go figure. Check, check and recheck their work now-a-days.

Are you going to take Diane with you?

Wayne, I think I will have to take her on this trip! After paying for: Transmission preventive service work; new fan clutch; and having to replace four tires on the back; I'll need her to pay for the diesel fuel.

Also, who else is qualified to handle the 'POOP PATROL' & early morning walks?
Larry, you finally got her working.

RVMs be advised: Wayne washes his car and Moho every 90 miles. Water and electric paid for in homemade cookie money. Yummy!!

Look out Florida. Here he comes.
Hey, where's the one of the three boys, and the other one of the three girls?
