Well we arrived at Williams, AZ this afternoon. Luckily most of the trip was nice until we ran into Monsoon rains and it hasn't stopped yet. Note to self: don't visit Grand Canyon during Monsoon season you idiot! I didn't know there was such a thing but Phoenix flooded today from heavy rains and all of it moving up here in the high country. One good thing it's 57 degrees and I love that!

Barb glad your holdin up to Don's cursing! That means he is getting stronger every day. Continued healing ohmmmms to him.

Well I guess I should feel good that Barb and I only made a $50 donation to the casinos by the time we left Vegas. That was worth the great time we had. So we may be hanging up here in the mountains a few days waiting on this rain to stop. Hope all is well on the rainbow for all Mutants.

I agree with Don, it's a sad day for the loss of my all time favorite commedian. I also agree with many about Patch Adams being one of my favorites. I also think that Birdcage is another of his great movies, I laugh till I cry every time I see it.

I think it was Sept. when we were in Williams a few years back. (No rain!) We took the train ride (with pre-trip arena show) to the rim and really enjoyed it. You can go for the day or stay at a hotel up there. Although there is a CG at the rim, we wanted the train experience, and it was well worth it.

Where are you staying now? We were in a car that trip, so didn't pay any attention to CGs at the time except for the one we saw at the rim. Rain aside, it's an interesting area. One of my favorites.

BTW, how's that Trailhawk doing for you?

Cheers!

R U an RV Mutant too?

Barb, your banter and prose and lovely writing style have given me a grand start to the day.

Our best wishes to Arlene and Don the $6M wonder boy, and to you their guardian angel.

A geography lesson, Lake Ouachita feeds into Lake Hamilton, which feeds into LAKE CATHERINE.........
But is a huge lake, and extremely clear

That's super Di !!!
And it really is a beautiful lake. I can tell you from my experience - it is also a great place to catch striped bass - and they apparently prefer to be caught by female mutants. Ask Papaw Steve!

BTW - Next time we need a selfie Di or a pic of you shooting the rapids. 😀

Good for you! What a beautiful ride. I'd never be able to get my yak on and off the Jeep roof, so your trailer sounds a good idea. Super to be independent like that. Oh! Your trailer is a cart? The little wheely rack you pull by hand? I do have one of those, but my nearest lake is 10 miles away. Long hike!

I need a Hullavator! Have you seen one? OMG, they are fantastic! Also fantastically costly, so beyond me at the moment, but maybe one day....

Too bad about the trash on the shores. Humans! Who'd have 'em?!

Cheers!

Yeah Diane! Few things are worth the trouble you must go thru to get there. Yaking definitely is worth all that bother and then some. I'm jealous of the calm, clear water where you are paddling. I hope you have a good dry bag for your phone. I drowned one in the Columbia before I figured out how to gracefully exit the yak.

Those are awesome pics, Diane! I would love to join you. I am planning on getting an inflatable Sea Eagle to minimize storage.

Doesn't surprise me that Wayne never used his boat, Jarheads get lost on the water without a member of the world's Finest Navy to pilot them around!

Do not declare war on a Marine that spent two years of his life, as a marine, on a navy vessel. Didn't you ever hear that the Marine Corps is a department of the navy - The Men's Department!

That was an old point and shoot digital camera i got 5 years ago. Still takes good pics. But my arms are not long enough for a selfie.......

Did have larrys phone in a dry bag inside a dry bag... Double bagged Just for emergencies, although I might not have had a signal.... His is my old hand me down from 4 years ago, so nothing lost if it did swim.... I will be updating soon on mine. We still have my iphone 3s that my mother just gave back. So we have a spare...

But yes, it is calm, although i have seen this lake whitecap at times......
