Ok, one more.

we are sleeping in Tuscaloosa AL walmart, everything is fine. We get up at 6am (me) 7am (andrea)... close the single bedroom slide, crank and go.... INSTANTLY STOP ENGINE LIGHT... whooa that's not good... I'm on the interstate, I need fuel, it's one exit up... the light goes out, COMES BACK ON, goes out, COMES BACK ON... hit the truck lane, shut the engine off, get fuel, call Fleetwood...... check coolant GOOD, check air GOOD, check something else GOOD.... they give us two numbers to call locally.... we go by the first cat shop (by the way, no more STOP ENGINE LIGHT after restart).. the first shops says "caaaan't help ya" - off to the second cat shop..... opps that was our exit.. overshot by 9 miles for a u-turn. Second shop has us detach car and back in a bay. Computer says exhaust overtemp - but no reason....

they scratch their heads and send us on our way (at no charge) 2 hours later.....

Then Jay needs a camping world fix to buy a new ran mcnally GPS that he doesn't need (+ toilet paper)...

Then we hit knoxville at 5pm drive time (whoops)

Only to be met with a standstill! (and i mean standstill) traffic accident on I-40 1 mile from our exit...

to only go to walmart to buy fishing lic (for the fish we DIDN'T catch today) where the walmart employee screwed up both of them and had to void and redo at the cost of another 45 minutes... so that...

I now had to head down 17 miles of back road, two lane, twisty turny, 25mph, narrrrrrrrrow lanes to smokey bear camprground.. in the dark.. and one headlight went out..........

What was supposed to be 5.5 hours of driving ... turned into 10 hours of hmmmmm, stress

So we arrived in the dark, walked the dogs in the dark, left this morning for a 45 minute drive to meet a fishing guide before the sun came up to catch zero fish.. WHEW!

That's a fun story. My mom laughed her head off at me over this story!

Holy smokes, Jay!
You sure do have fun. I'm pretty sure I musta had that happen to me when I was a child. 😉
Sooooo, wut wuz da stop engine cause?
No fish? A bad day fishin is better than a great day at work!
Check in when you have another fine story, aye?

There was some discussion of down time and possible boredom while on a cruise. Annie's Mom has expressed fear that we - especially Annie may be bored on the rainbow.

I think the mutant sees things differently and approaches life - even in the slower, meandering, times almost as a badge of honor.

He Accepts His Boredom
"Your true traveller finds boredom rather agreeable than painful. It is the symbol of his liberty-his excessive freedom. He accepts his boredom, when it comes, not merely philosophically, but almost with pleasure. - Aldous Huxley"

I would go so far as to say - a little boredom will be more than welcome.

Ponder amongst yourselves...

I used to call it boredom..... Now I have learned it is meditation time... Relaxation time..... ME time......
And I am thankful that I have the time......

R U an RV Mutant too?

Have not had boredom yet.
Moments with nothing to do, yes.
There is a lot to like, to adore, to cherish, in "nothing".
"Nothing" is gracious, forgiving, and never harsh.
It has a very low price, it never wears out, and always rewards you in unexpected ways.
Nothing. A goal by itself.
Perhaps nothing at all is all we ever wanted. Yes?

I did see you can prepay for various drink packages and upscale dining on the cruise. So... perhaps drink in one hand - lamb shank in the other...
