As most of you know Canada had a tragedy yesterday. A deranged gunman shot and killed an innocent honour guard member at our "Tomb of The Unknown Soldier" He then ran into our building of parliament and was running through the halls with his weapon looking for someone to shoot.
The deranged fool's activities were cut short by the House Sargent at Arms who pulled his CC and shot the dude dead.
I bring this up only because my niece works in the building and from what we can gather the gunfire was along the hall across in front of the door that was the entrance to her office.
She is OK and we can still argue politics.

That's why we do not do flu shots anymore. Then I read just a couple of days ago an article by the head of Johns Hopkins epidemiology saying that flu shots were a big hype by the govt. and big drug companies. This doc said flu shots are more likely to give you the flu than keep it away from you. He claims research shows that, and it has been surpressed by big drug companies.

Herb, here is the background of of the PhD [Doc] that wrote the article. Peter Doshi, Ph.D.: his PhD is in “History, Anthropology, and Science, Technology and Society” from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is an assistant professor of pharmaceutical health services research in the School of Pharmacy, University of Maryland, and associate editor at The BMJ (formerly, British Medical Journal). Doshi completed a fellowship in comparative effectiveness research at Johns Hopkins.
Many articles written by epidemiologists have stated that 'Dr. Doshi, who is not an epidemiologist, makes some clear mistakes about the nature of the yearly flu epidemics that we see, the deaths from influenza, and the benefits/risks of the influenza vaccine.'
IMHO, he's a PhD doc, and not a MD doc, but has presented himself simply as Doctor Doshi. He isn't incorrect, but it is somewhat misleading. His field of undergrad, PhD and Internship studies had nothing to do with epidemiology. [NOTE: there are some MD docs that had also gone on to get their PhD, also. These are the true & tried medical researchers.] So, to take his word for it over Medical Doctors & Epidemiologists [who are NOT doctors, PhD nor MD], isn't worth much. I believe in & follow the instructions of my Cardiologist [MD from Harvard Medical School & Departmental Dean at UAMS] and Internal Medicine Specialist [MD from UAMS & Assistant Professor at UAMS].
Got my shot yesterday with NO side effects, not even soreness where they injected [first time ever!!!]

Glad your niece is OK Dennis.
Pneumonia shots?? There are two now. Only can get one each year.
Congrats Di!! Woot! Woot!
Ohmmmmmsss to Annie. Hope she feels better soon.
Besides the tetanus shot Steve you may want to check into a shot for hoof in mouth too. And hangin' with Paul while you're supposed to be sortin' and loadin'.....hmmmmmm!
Can't take the shingles shot myself...takin' Humira and that negates any live virus shots.

Saw it on CNN & happy to hear that your niece was unharmed. The other item of interest was that your PM was in the first room the terrorist past.

Larry, THAT is why you married a teacher. 😉
We get our shots on payday, every November.
Let's not forget that Steve had a mighty tough row to hoe with the flu, hospitalized et al.

J'ever wonder?
There are times when some simple minds think things are too complicated for those that they consider to be simpler, but they were simply not listening when the simple answer was spoken by those that are not as simple as they had assumed.
And there you have it. Problem solved.
I think.....
