Turkey Day (a day of thanksgiving) is winding down. We're blessed to had had our whole immediate family over for a wonderful dinner. Thanks to my fellow mutants for providing an enjoyable day of banter and pictures.

Ohms of peace and healing ohms to all of our friends and their loved ones that need good vibes right now. Safe keeping ohms for our mutants that are moving about the rainbow. Remember to remind yourselves of the blessing you possess when a cloud hovers over your rainbow.

Three of our grandsons are spending the night with us and have gone to bed like little gentlemen. Note to self: we are so blessed that our daughter and son-in-law are good parents. Raising their family of five kids just fine.

Signing off for tonight. God bless you guys.

Howdy Mutey's!

Happy Happy Thanksgiving to all of our mutant family! Hoping you all have had a blessed day on the rainbow or wherever you may be today.

We have been stuffing ourself silly all day as most of you have I'm sure. Then we watched our beloved Cowboys go down in flames! But all is not lost. We made some great new friends today.

John is a proper English gentleman that has been in Texas forty years and is a new husband of two months to his longtime friend and now bride from England, Patricia. She is quite amazed at our beautiful country and was fascinated that Barb and I roam around the country on our rainbow rider. I immediately thought of Martin and Sue and told John the story Martin told me about finding his old Jag by accident in New Zealand. John was fascinated.

We may have stirred thoughts of rainbow riding because John admitted that he has been thinking of buying a motor home to show his new bride our country. I hope he comes to this website to learn more about mutantdom!

So another blessed day comes to an end and Barb and I want to say how thankful we feel to have become a part of a larger family of old friends in mutantdom and new friends we made today. We are better off for knowing you all. We look forward to being with you all on the rainbow and pray for healing ohms where needed. Have a very blessed day and safe travels to you all.

Some of you have heard this but the short story is that it was getting so bad I didn't think I would survive to retirement. I felt miserable nearly all the time. Something happened that pushed me towards a surgical procedure. I was so miserable that I told my dear Sandee that if it went bad on the table and I died...I was OK with that!

Long story short...it was a success and about 6 months later in March of 2011 Sandee and I were visiting Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, TN and I was going up and down hills and having a blast. I suggested we go visit a couple RV places. By April we had a 39' Winnebago Adventurer and ran that through the summer. By that time we BOTH committed to a FT life style and by January of 2012 we bought our DSDP. May of 2013 we moved out of the house to sell it and into our DSDP until we hit the road.

November 29th, 2013 we started up the engine for our departure from our working (sorry for cussing) lives and on November 30th we were both officially retired. Our journey onto the rainbow was beginning.

As I type this I find myself just a bit misty eyed thinking of all the twists and turn that have brought me to this point. All of the things that came before today are important in reaching this this place in Sandee's and my lives.

From the time we bought our first RV we knew something was going to happen but hadn't really fleshed that out yet. That first summer in the Winnebago was the key that turned on the rainbow maker and we knew what was next. The purchase of the DSDP was the cornerstone for our new lives. It was our commitment to living a life less afraid of what was ahead and taking chances because reward comes from taking risks. We knew we didn't want to just sit around the house and marvel at what we had accumulated and the RV gave us the tools to move beyond an "ordinary" life that we had created.

The 18 months have been extraordinary! They taught us much about everything. About what is important and from that we found that we could work through a lot of things. Downsizing was a major issue and we managed to achieve that without getting divorced! LOL We grew closer and found that living in about 400 sq ft of living space with our 2 GSDs wasn't bad at all.

Along the way we have picked up some amazing friends. Little did we know that our first informal get together in Cape Girardeau, MO with some IRV friends would introduce us to 2 future mutant clans. Jim & Ginny and Tim & Mary were strangers (OK...Tim is still "stranger" LOL) and we didn't know that our paths would cross again. We didn't know it but we had stumbled on this unnamed concept called the rainbow.

While we have met many great RV friends, mutants and non-mutants, connecting with Steve and Annie has been a special relationship. I tell folks that Steve and I are brothers of different mothers. Clearly Steve is the dreamer of dreamers while I tend to be more techie and introspective. When I get all excited about techie things for our coach and deal with issues like busted air bags he keeps me dreaming about the real reasons we made this our life style.

So, as we leave this driveway in a couple hours with our coach all fixed up and resume our travels I feel fortunate for all of you. As with any large group it isn't possible to know each and everyone as well as the next. However, it is possible to appreciate that we are all tied to a concept of freedom to explore in our way, at our pace and in the style we chose. We roam around looking for more adventures, friends and memories to take with us into what ever comes next whether that is tomorrow, next week, next year or into what ever comes after we turn the key for the last time.

All of you, OUR FRIENDS, are part of our lives and we are blessed to have you in it.
Don sometimes even we dreamers are speechless. I thought and pondered and pondered some more. All I have to say is... Thanks brother. Looking forward to carrying on with ya in the RGV...

For those who may not have seen it... this is what Don looks like shortly after seeing dolphin or porpoise rolling by while sitting on the ferry to Padre Island at Aransas Pass.

I submit Don's name also as a guest writer. Reason, I find many long post to be difficult at best to read to the end. (Example, I've lost a good third of you by now) Don does write well either in fact, ie describing the bag blow out OR fiction ie "Tim is still strange".

Just a thought to pass along to the temps.
Tim - I wasn't ignoring you - just too busy to respond. Actually to tired to respond fully now - so bottom line - Barb did give me story - and if I ever see my laptop again I probably have it.. lol. Actually - I know right where it is but it has not seen the light of day since we left Plano.

I agree that the news letter was fun and a good idea. I can add that as something for the RGV and beyond... and I like the idea of features and mutant guest ghost or visible feature writers. ANY MUTANT is welcome to contact me via PM - here - through the Contact Us page on www.RVMutants.com - etc.
If they would like to write / share.

My thought was always more Mutants and Mutations in retirement - not less, although it is easy to watch a day slip by with little accomplished. Of course we are tired too - so I expect the energy level to rise. The website and planning for GC 2.0 and 1.2 are upon us and I'll be springing into it soon.

All I can say is - our mutant family will be a big part of this journey and we - and I mean we - couldn't be happier about it. My girl cried at the departure of every last one of the Rockport Mutant Retirement curiosity. Only Sue caught her.. the rest of ya got off easy. "bow:

It was a good day! I had never seen a dolphin or porpoise before. I clear, bright day, seeing things I hadn't seen, dreaming of things that I would see and hanging with a good friend. It don't get better than that!
