A birthday gift for all Mutants but I was sent this clip and thought y'all would like to view. These gentle giants are no longer in firefighting service and are destined to go to museums. They are a year older than me so maybe this time next year I'll be on display somewhere too. (Wayne don't go there)
I have watched these giants fly out to fires and then on return do a fly over of Port Alberni doing the wing waggle. Funny thing is on every departure and every retun Port Albernians would be outside looking up and waving to them. Pride of theoretical ownership at its best.
From now on this will be the only way of enjoying these beauties.
BTW in the opening shot I live about five miles away part way up the mountain over the tail section.

Hey all you Facebook users. The Tampa news had a story about Facebook changing the use of your personal information which I wasn't comfortable with. The story mentioned that you should review your FB privacy settings or on 1/1/2015 they will permit your information being used by companies to target emails to you among other things.
I tried to delete my email address and phone # but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I decided to delete my FB acct entirely. That takes 14 days!!!
Have I mentioned that I hate Facebook?

YOu can delete the phone by editing your profile, but you must have an email as a way to log in... I am suspecting that when the new stuff rolls out, ( and at the top of the feed there has been notice of pending changes, I didn't go look yet) but I suspect they will give you the option to opt out of the emails... otherwise... just block FB in your email program.

You can always put bad information in the fields that you want to remain private. Unless they re-verify your email address you should be able to change that as well.
