Steve, I hope you are taking note of where the best weather happens to be most of the time. It a longer drive, but I'm sure glad I came down.
Day before yesterday mid 80's .. and liking it just fine! Even the mightiest of mutants can't be in more than one place at a time. Next year AZ - the following year FL if all goes as imagined - not planned lol.

I have been to Florida many times - and like it but not enough to have made the trip this year. There was just too much going on to make that trip. It was nice to meander from DFW to Rockport and there to here. Worked out great. No regrets on the rainbow!

If you want guaranteed warm sultry weather, you have to fly or cruise to it this time of year. For 25-30 years we went to the keys in different weeks in Dec or January. Every one out of 4 years we had cold, rainy, windy weather. You basically have to go Puerto Rico and south to guarantee the nice warm balmy weather.

That being said we had some great weather there most of the time, and if you are lucky enough to be there a month, most of it is good.
Last year it seemed like Tucson was 70-80 the whole time with no clouds, bright sunny skies. This year the last couple weeks have averaged mid to high 60s but very cool nights.

Any place you can go to escape the Norths frigid temps and cloudy skies is great, but there is no "perfect" place.

R U an RV Mutant too?

Today, a trip for veggies.
The chilis are roasting, the cilantro and dried habaneros are flying off the shelves, and "Merry Christmas" is heard and recited continuously!
Our family has been in contact and is safe and secure, and we wish the same and a hearty Merry Christmas to the RVM family.

Of course, antler! I had forgotten all about that. Stone is too harsh for obsidian, isn't it?

He is indeed. I want to see the bow... quiver and arrows...

Nice work Dwayne. Salt the land in NC and charge admission to dig for art-i-fax.

Twas the Night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the RVMdom
Not a mutant was stirring, not even a new one..
The stockings were hung by the dash with care,
In hopes that RVM0 soon would be there.

The mutants were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of curiosities danced in their heads.
And mamma in her kimono, and I in my flannels,
Had just tuned our ponders for a long nights mutation .

When out on the picnic table arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a mutant,
Lifted the shades and pulled back the screen.

The moon on the breast of the morning dew
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects anew.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be RVM Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the palm tree! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the slide-toppers the coursers they flew,
With the rainbow rider full of RV Upgrade gift certificates, and St Mutant too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
In through the door St Mutant came with a bound.

He was dressed all in shorts and flip flops, and t-shirt -
His clothes were all covered with Hawaiian desings.
A bundle of gift cards he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a parrot head, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a big round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of Martys jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old mutant,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his mutating,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a beef jerky.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, out the door and down steos he did go.

He sprang to his rainbow rider, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like RVM on his to PA.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-mutation!"
