Jeff I have a good friend that flies RC planes. He had a second controller that was connected by a cord to the main controller where he could take control if a student was about to crash. Saved a lot of down time and dollars. That was the only way I would fly His planes was with him right there, he had several and lots of money invested. Have fun!

Hi Dave,

If we can ever get our rainbows to land in the same place at the same time again I'd enjoy having you along for a flight. I also had a Corsair that was wire controlled when I was much younger and it crashed way to easily. RC is lots of fun but, wind conditions can really fool you, and the plane and radio can out fly your vision and getting it back can be a challenge. I fly my Cub on basic flight I have yet to try intermediate or advanced ..... Someday ..... maybe.

Cheers !!!

Depends on the size I've seen the 600 and larger series and I think I'd be worried just being near one that a professional flies! I've been messing with the much smaller ones for the last couple of years and have followed the tragedies that have occurred with the larger units. Even one of the most well respected hobbyist got nailed by his own heli and died so I agree, they can be quite dangerous.

Hi Carl,

Size is always a contributing factor in the amount of damage done to be sure. There is a micro Cub that can almost fly itself and its half the price of my sport Cub, and I may well get one do I can fly circles around the MH, its great practice, it doesn't hardly compare to the thrill of driving on the edge of a Jeep trail but, with the plane I'm the one that's nervous, and not Marcia screaming that I'm to close to the edge ..... hahahahaha.

Hey Tim,

Yep that's how I learned, I have a DX6 controller and its all wireless, you bind the controllers together and the teacher can take over with the touch of a button, or give the student the plane with a touch of a button as well, without all those pesky wires getting in the way. What's really uncomfortable is the teacher taking control and saying, " you're making me nervous I'm taking control " and you thinking you were doing pretty good .... lol ...... Not !!!!!!!

Jeff
