Barb, my mom just got out of the hospital after treatment for pneumonia. She also has a little fluid in the lining around her lungs, but Lasix is taking care of that. Prognosis is very good.

I'm glad to hear your friend is doing better, as well. Will continue those healing ommmmmmmmms for her!

Nope. We have been to CL 5 or 6 times in the past 3 years; always leave home around 8 a.m. and get to CL around 5-ish. We make short stops to walk the dog and coffee breaks.

We have always been in "working stiff vacation mode" for our trips, so have been used to covering a lot of miles per day. It will take us a while to realize that retirement means slow down and enjoy the scenery!

Believe me, it takes less time than you think. It will probably kick in about half way to CL...

Totally off topic, but that isn't unusual for moi: here's what was invisible around the first quarter moon in the afternoon sky about 3:00 today.

Sorry it's at 90* from vertical! (This is an exercise for your collective neck.)
The moon is by Aries' front hooves. It's from an app called Sky Walk, which enables one to see what is both above and below the horizon at any time, day or night, indoors or out.

Enjoy.

She and Martin are off the charts cool. Told her the other day, when we grow up we want to be just like them - 3 4 5 month RV trips - a cruise or two every other month or two - and talented to boot. She has a yak and has ridden one too. How many people can say that. Only a mutant methinks. Lol.

Hmmm. Maybe we should depart for CL on the 3rd.

We can have a mortgage-burning ceremony for the Bounder. She will be free and clear in April. (Time for random stuff to start falling off on the highway.)
