I orginally booked that mule train but opted out when I found out there wasn't a dining car.

Has anyone taken the Steam Train out to the Canyon from Williams. I would be willing to bet this one has a dining car.

I'll ride a donkey down when donkeys talk!
Oh wait one did, see Numbers 22!
Still not interested in riding a winding narrow trail to bottom only to look up.

Ok anyone know about the train ride? Sounds good, a steam train chugging along, a cool beverage, yep sounds interesting!

A friend here in TC (yes, I do have more than one) took the four legged trip to the Canyon floor. He described it as a scary experience if you looked down. Those Mules/Donkeys/Jackasses (whatever they were) are as sure footed as anything. He said that in many places it was so narrow that looking at their feet was scary, but they made it down and back up. Sorry, not for me. I can get dizzy looking down from a step stool. (Not really, but i think I might have to pee!)

When I was a kid... we took the mules down and back up... what scared me was how fast the supply mule trains ran down those switchbacks! we had to wait off to the side when a couple were going down... they move fast...and are very sure footed.
