A gathering of mutants can be well organized, over organized, unorganized, or totally "let's just wing it". The important thing is to settle down with fellow mutants for a while and open a new chapter in our life's journey. Each person can announce a regional gathering of mutants and ask interested folks to make reservations for such and such dates at such and such campground in Anywhere, North America. I think you would be surprised by the numbers of mutants that are within 500 miles of that location or makes up a schedule that would put them close enough to attend.

Everyone has a "bucket list" of places they want to see with a limited time (during good weather season) to visit their new section of the rainbow so it's sometimes impossible to arrange to be at a GC. However, it might be possible to attend 3 out of 6 regional midi-C's and meet new mutants on every occasion.

My two cents worth.
I agree Steve. And while Dave and I love throwing a Grande C and talk weekly - text daily - to put our signatures on the Big Top Cs cause we're sick and twisted that way, the small Cs are awesome too. Dave and I are as sensitive to people's schedules as we can be so we try hard to find ways to put ourselves in the same place with as many of us as we can.

As full timers our schedules are flexible - we can go anywhere and do it in our own time - hence Dave's ability to journey 2300 miles (from Pa) in 15 days to do Bryce - and we will journey the same from Normal to Amana to Sioux Falls to Las Vegas to Bryce - in 3 months. Many mutants don't have that kind of flexibility. Which is again - one of my issues with voting... with our mutant diversity getting dates and places to align is like hitting the lottery. Example is on the website here (PDF)

http://rvmutants.com/2015-son-of-fir...tion-form.html

Dates and places suggested by mutants over time were across the map and calendar. The other issue in voting is ballets cast, group agrees and the majority winners don't make it to the curiosity. Those who do are in a location picked and at a time by mutants not in attendance.

I'm sure we'll get better at this - and now that I'm starting to decompress and settle into the Journey - I'll get back to the website and do some w**k there. It's been such a great experience so far and Annie and I are really looking forward to making the RVMdom our home. And when we pass through your neck of the rainbow we will do as THE Lucid One suggests - look ya up.

Well, Annie is finally off the phone with her friend Evelyn and Sandee - so off I go into birthday land. Have a great rainbow ride today!

Herb, nope - we took the 2 grands on the train out of Durango, CO. It was totally awesome.

In Arizona, we stayed at Williams in a CG. We took the grands to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. They were blown away by the beauty. Went to the canyon early one morning, toured, stayed overnight in a hotel, toured, and returned to MH in Williams.

Thanks Papa Steve, it's good to note how other mutants handled the touring.

Sheesh! You must be blonde. You can't see the South Rim from the North Rim! Sheesh.

A ponder: GC, Williams, AZ. Even if the CG doesn't have a meeting room, many restaurants can handle groups.

Well, when you are ready to come down, holler. I'll give you a ride in "curb appeal."

The Grand Canyon is truly that. But a visit to the North Rim really completes the full image of "Grand".
If you can, do it. You will never regret it!

Now donkeys down into the Grand Canyon? I dunno if I'd do that.
