Jeff, if you are going to Bend, try getting to Crater Lake!

However, the Oregon Coast would be the high point of your trip!
Been there twice.....its a must see!

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to add either rollers or swivel casters to the outside back corners of the cargo carrier. I could also raise the carrier higher using an adapter, but it will add extra weight and length to the tongue.

Also, which other IRV2 forum would be the best place to ask for non RVM opinions?
Not sure about which forum - but I would think one thing you will need to know is how much it weighs. The Smarty probably isn't close to overloading your coach and tow bar/hitch. It's above my pay grade...

Barb is the receiver hitch that mounted on the back of Smarty the 2inch square are the smaller 1inch square?
Regardless of the clearance I think you might be reaching weight load capacity for the carrier on the 1 inch receiver. If the weight is satisfactory I would use an adapter of some sort to raise the carrier. Adding anything to the bottom actually reduces the clearance and invites more contact with road hazards.

Liz and Mary had a carrier that allowed them to roll a scooter up on it attached to rear of MH and hitch extended out far enough to allow attaching a car.

Hope you get it worked out, having Sena drive along behind you might be another option! (Sorry I had to throw in a mutant answer!) lol

Segway in neutral. Sena drives motorhome. Barb holds ski rope!

The trailer hitch has a 200# max tongue weight. I have an adapter that lets it accept 2 inch. Carrier weighs 32# -- Segway weighs 103#. I have one of those dual adapters.

I'm thinking it will be better to put the Seg carrier above the towbar on the back of the MoHo except for really short drives in Smarty. I'll just have to get a longer ramp for driving the Seg up onto the carrier. Or, I'll just take the Seg and leave Smarty.

Thanks guys!

I'm not sure we helped. But at 103 lbs the Segway is lighter than I thought! Too bad it won't fit in the drivers seat. Hey - do you have a sunroof...

My searches show Smarty at about 1800 with normal load.
