I was afraid elevation might impact some mutants. And it is a shame because the higher elevations offer some great mutation sites. Colorado is one of our possible routes to AZ from Bryce so it will be a good test for us to see how we fare in Bryce. Years ago when I lived in Albuquerque I had no issues with elevation but I'm a little older now lol...

Gonna give it the - OMT - Old Mutant Test... fingers crossed.

Ha Steve, I just joined the super secret Yahoo group. They said it was a serious site for planning the GC's. No political jokes, no dirty jokes. Want to wager who Barb or Di boots first?

Great, now there's a secret Yahoo group to go along with the regular Yahoo group? That's a lot of Yahoo's.

We my health issues, the elevation at Bryce gave me reason for concern.

Last year's adventure with 2 of the grands in Arizona and Colorado has lifted my confidence level in dealing with 5,000^ elevation (eight straight days of 5,000 to 14,000 feet elevation).

Rule # 1 - - Don't lift or carry heavy loads
Rule #2 - - If it's further than 2 football fields, drive your car to it and park . . . . . close.
Rule #3 - - Walk slowly, rest, walk slowly, rest - - - never be in a hurry
Rule # 4 - - Never be embarrassed enough to break rules 1 thru 3

Yes following Jeff up to Oregon sounds good but I want to make sure I have plenty of time to see it all while up there. The parks you mentioned in the other thread sounded interesting and we've not been there yet. Will do a little map reading and work out an initial plan. Still don't know your dates at BC?

Total trip appx 3300 miles.

Any and all advice greatly appreciated!!

Going to try to get hold of the guy who can do a monthly rate - if he's wiling to do so... I have been told that Zions lower elevation will mean high Temps - but having come from Las Vegas in July I will probably be OK with it by then. Will research Zion and see what it looks like. Will get back to you.

Steve, I developed that credo while at 8500 in NM. It works!
Shall we talk and walk slowly together in Utah?
