As pointed out it has been a while since I last posted. Yes we are still using the teardrop and modifying it... The latest project is heating using the water heater. When boondocking and relying on solar for all our power the marine 120AC is out of the question. I had been thinking in terms of why not use the water heater in gas mode as a source. I picked up an aluminum automotive heater core and a 200mm computer case fan and ordered a 12v solar hot water pump and temperature controller which will control both the pump and fan. I built the housing out of oak and assembled using nylobraid 1/2" hose from Home Depot. Proof of concept because the temps are still about -10F was to fill the sink with hot water and power the pump and fan with a 12v gel cell. And it works. I will have to wait till spring till I can finishing plumbing and try it out. My feelings are that it will be enough for us as we only have 400 cubic feet to heat and the trailer has 1 1/2" of foam insulation.
