Since I bemoaned the rain and colder weather so much as a Winter Texan - here's the take from the locals... sugar cane left in the ground, closed sugar plant 300 laid off, cotton not planted...

http://m.krgv.com/news/Wet-and-Cold-...eason/31905680

9 inches of rain vs 3 inches historically. It's been hard on folks from here as winter Texans left early - didn't golf and spend their usual $$.

Two of our favorite neighbors have opted to leave early and are leaving their 5th wheels here.

We will give the RGV another chance somewhere down the road cause when it's nice it truly is grand, and we did not get to see all that we were hoping too. No hard feelings cause mother nature owns the rainbow. It's kind of like folks that think the Buffalo and Bears in Yellowstone are in a petting zoo... it's great to spend your time outdoors while riding the rainbow - but ya have take what mother nature gives you and be thankful - and we are...

It was a quiet day so it did pay off! Often times it's impossible.

Getting things prepared for my journey back to FL next Saturday, can hardly wait after the 3 inches of snow yesterday. Fortunately it all melted off quickly, leaving the old snow on the ground, which likely will take a couple more weeks at least to go away.

Sarah have you ever stayed at Maumelle Park on the Arkansas River just west of Little Rock?

Or the Downtown RV Park on the River in downtown LR?

Dave the Maumelle Park would be a nice place to park for a extended stay, the one downtown would be good for a short visit. IMO

PS: "stuff" = "valuable, exciting merchandise, especially chosen by our professional buyer to tickle your fancy". 😜

Steve,

I sure hope the weather gods aren't punishing you for sumpthen. Rockport was colder and rainier than usual, and then the RGV winter is being blamed on you. Please make sure you and Annie do a cleansing spell prior to your Arkanas arrival. I'm looking forward to a week of wonderful sunny days and campfire perfect nights. And Tim, do your anti-tornado dance. Mutants are coming to play!

Barb, that last sentence means there'll be enough energy and hot air to create weather of its own. Maybe even ... better not say!
