Earline, you are a tough old girl, and I mean that in the best way. I'm glad that you were not seriously injured & that Miya is ok. Don't be afraid to walk her. Just carry a can of pepper spray with you. It works on dogs just as well as it does on people.

I notice that I called it "Pendleton Lakes" when it is actually "Pendleton Bend." My sister and BIL have been RVing for 30 years or more; they seem to know every great COE on the map! They love the Arkansas COEs. Thanks for the eatery recommendation!

Steve--I have not been to the Tetons but it's definitely on the short list. We would prefer to wait until June or so in hopes of missing the later snowfalls and finding more camping facilities open for the season.
My sis and BIL absolutely love the Jackson Hole area and seem to go back there every year, though they have been "snowed in" more than once.
We are considering the GC @ Bryce but still discussing. I think our Bounder has developed a radiator leak but probably just a hose clamp. It's always something. RVing is not for the faint of heart.

Ok, Steve, I know you've been to the Tetons/Yellowstone area numerous times. (I've only been once, 35 years ago, & Kate's never been.)
Give me the date window you think we would be good to be there, given the fact that Bow's holding tanks are NOT heated. I was thinking we'd be safe by late June, like around 6/22-6/28. Whatcha think?

We are about to depart for Pendleton Lakes COE near Dumas AR; keeping an eye on the weather. My sister and BIL are meeting us there for a few days; they are enroute to Jackson Hole. They wanted us to go with them but we aren't ready for a long trip at this point.

Oh my... Lived there for 27 years..... Dumas, taught school, You do know, there is NO walmart there....
So stock up, grocery yes, but choices are limited... Small delta towns...
the skeeters are huge... And so thick they block your nostrils.
But spent most of our summer afternoons on the river there... Both sons avid waterskiers....
In prep, watch the movie, Mud, filmed there recently...
Drive around to the Arkansas Post, museum....
Nothing else to do there.... Watch the barge traffic, BIG RIceland shipping facility there.... Right besude the COE park, hopefully you can get on the river side.... Otherwise.... Nada.
NEVER woukd i pick that as a destination..... LOL... even Lake Village, AR would be better.... Vicksburg, MS, also great.
Btw Why Dumas? It is not even on a direct route to anywhere..... I know, i grew up in Helena, AR...
Sarah..... Pm or email me if you need info....

We were there those approximate dates, maybe a little earlier, Was cool, but not cold.... Our holding tanks are not heated either...
Stayed inside Yellowstone for week, then in Tetons. I really liked the Tetons, not as crowded, and bigger spaces, Flagg Ranch Resort..... This was within driving distance of both...

The store in Pickens was an old farm store, RA Pickens was the owner, there are a few other really good restaurants in Dumas, namely Taylors, another old farm store, west of town, and Catfish Kitchen... Also a super Chinese Restaurant (chek lee is owner).... Most of the locals will know me, as Diane Yarnell,
The COE in Little Rock is great too, one of the nicest I have been to, Maumelle Park, less mosquitos....

To the above two quotes, it is not the roof I'm worrying about. It will last until she is well. However, the darn housework! She'll milk that for a month or more. It never fails that however long I pull the start cord on the vacuum cleaner the motor will not start. I guess it's time to get out the leaf blower again, open all the windows, and have it it. Dusting and sweeping all in one swoop.

We spent time in Yellowstone and drove by the Tetons June 28-28, 2010. It was nice. Light jacket or sweater is all that was needed at times. Ended up in a Buffalo Jam in Yellowstone one day.

=====================
Hey all, thanks for the kind words for Earlene's healing. Mucho Appreciato. (Or just plain thanks.)

R U an RV Mutant too?
New RVM Recipe, and it don't get more Lancaster County than this:
1. Appropriate RVM beverage
2. Wrap Hippeys Franks (Denver PA) in Shady Maple Hillbilly Bacon (Blue Ball PA)
3. Slowly roast over an oak fire (Dutch Cousins Campground)
4. Da-Dah! Hippey Hillbilly Franks!
(Snarfing not shown)

T hanks, Di. As it turns out, we will be at Rising Star COE instead of Pendleton. My sis and BIL are into camping and fishing, so they aren't interested in much touristy stuff. I appreciate the info!
