There is a section in your Jeep owners manual that explains the procedure to flat tow your Jeep. If you put it on a tow dolly the procedure would still be the same.

The folks at Ruby's are really nice and very helpful. I mentioned RVMutants and they knew who I was talking about -- even mentioned that another registered today -- must be Ed!

We are close enough to hear the PA system from the rodeo tonight. Lily wanted to join the chorus. For a tiny little town there seems to be lots to do here and if you speak any second language you are likely to hear someone speaking it here. Lots of international visitors!

If you have not gone online to look at photos of Bryce Canyon you are missing a most unique landscape. It almost seems as if it belongs on another planet.

This is my second trip here in the last 4 years and I'm still in awe of the sights. If you have any questions please ask.

What's the dates of this swore? If anyone is going through Van Horn Tx yo get there let us know we can do a mini ;-)

Thanks we will definitely check on the Demco base plate.

This is a favorite spot for us. You look out over some wild life and beach grass to the ocean and all for free. No cost to you and it's to the side of the Casino. No power or water except that beautiful view of the ocean. Last year we stayed for a week.

We know what you're driving by your posting avatar or signature.

Your assignment is to list only the campgrounds that you would recommend (by city and state) for the rest of us to enjoy. If you name it, its location, and say "overnight" or "short stay", the rest of us would feel good about driving into a previously unknown and untested campground as we travel across the United States.

If your list only gives name and location, we will assume that it's good for a short stay in a Class A. We can all survive without a sewer hook-up for a few days but we'll assume that it has water and at least 30 amp. Out-of-the-way sites are especially desirable.

Steve and Annie, Dave and Nola, Jeff and Marcia, Don and Sandee, and Barb can be a wonderful resource for "hidden gems" and other suitable campgrounds. Also some of us seasonal travelers can contribute too.

Now how do we make it possible to have all mutants to add their lists to an accessible listing of recommended campgrounds? Maybe make your list and copy and paste to a master list that accessible to all of us.

I know. I know. There are sites listing ALL SORTS OF CAMPGROUNDS but I want a list that's put together by mutants that we love and trust (not Jim Bob that's part owner in a dump of a campground).

Our tastes are similar in nature. Very few that expect paver lined streets with casitas. Few that have the ability to sit at Quartsite for 10 days "off the grid". For us "down to earth" mutants, all we need is a list (by state) of campgrounds that have been found acceptable by fellow mutants.

So if this idea has merit, let's "get er done". Helpful suggestions please.

Good luck Steve, i still only have a handful that sent me their personal info.....
And not many more with birthday.

We had a Demco on the Saturn. It was good. We now have a Blue Ox and it is good. The Demco had a little tab sticking out. The Blue Ox is flush when you twist and take out the coupler. This is on the Lincoln MKX - check with each Mfg to see how their's stacks up.

Yes and also on the floor just to the left of the hi-lo button was a foot activated button that would change stations when you pressed it with your foot. Drove a friend on mine crazy on a 400 mile trip. I'd tell the radio to change stations and then push the button. I told him to mimic my voice and speech pattern fluctuations to see if he could get it to change stations too. Of course i didn't push the button on the floor. The three people in the back seat were just about dying from laughter watching him and listening to his attempts. I asked one of the back seat passengers to try and of course the station magically changed. I loved that old wander bar technology.

When I got mine at three years old it was just under $900.00 and the guy wants $6500 for this one.

I know we are suppose to tow it 4 down..........however we bought a tandem dolly last year when in ND and now that we have packed the house up we can't find the paperwork to sell it here. We were towing our Vespa's on it too. We have come up with the solutions for the future........tow bar and going to buy a motorcycle lift once we reach TX. However we have to make sure we are going to do the right thing to get the Jeep down there safely.

We have heard and been told that if we take the driveshaft off we can transport the Jeep safely. Has anyone had any experience with this? How did that go for you or someone you know? How did you tie up the driveshaft too? It's a one time thing but can't figure out what else to do. We already have our son driving the pick up down with a huge white utility trailer of our things too.

Help.........please
I wouldn't do it. Mine paperwork claims 4 down or on a trailer.

So, Colleen, rent a trailer? You have enough oomph in your Empress!
Or you both drive?
I would not do 2-down with my Red.

Hunter and I talked... for one time deal to get it to Texas... will require some work. Put front tires on dolley and pull the rear drive shaft. I wouldn't be worried at all then. Nothing will be spinning except the rear diff.

Jackie wants to know who wants to go on a day trip to Vegas during Bryce week.

We will be heading to Bryce from Vegas - so not sure. If we are big winners - sure why not... lol.
