Would have but it was late and we don't know sign language. Everything was communicated through the wife and 2 little boys. They were indeed mutant material!

Happy Fathers Day.

Have a house full, both daughters spent the night with all 4 DGC...
Of course I still had to make crepes today.

You having your CRV redone as a jeep?
Probably would be cheaper to just go out and buy a Jeep.

With the old 1/2 million about to click over on the odometer I am starting to think about replacing my 1994 Jeep GC. I was looking at a Chevrolt Tracker like the one pictured. 4 X 4 Automatic (Denise is terrified of standards, mine included) so it has to be auto. I chatted with a guy who hauled a Suzuki Grand Vitaro behind his unit (same vehicle rebadged) and he was mildly enthusiastic about it. Anyone heard good or bad about these units?

In a moment of weakness, I allowed the spouse to convince me to sell my cherished van and buy something newer. Well that's all water under the bridge now, so like I was saying the urge to get another restorable small van is growing strong.

The way I envision the restoration would be to completely dismantle it, then purchase a small diesel for repowering and build it back up around that somewhat heavier engine. The question is ... do you think I should move the engine a foot or so toward the rear to take some weight off the front axle? The way the stock engine is situated, the center of mass is very close to the center line of the front axle.

Next question ... is this the type of restoration that you would be interested in taking on? No time constraints like we see on the TV reality car shop shows. Those guys are more into acting like wild animals than doing a restoration.

Do you know what the small Cummins weighs? Suggestions on transmission brand, type?
It weighs 745 and takes up less room then the 350 it only makes 105 hp stock and 240 lbs of torque. If you find a a old ups truck it comes with all wires and computer and a Allison transmission.

Had a friend suggest using larger crochet hook and using black leather strips to do something like this... pretty mutant, eh?

R U an RV Mutant too?

So, I bought a used stir pump for my Hydronic Heating System (Aqua Hot) from a guy in the States.

USPS, (in all their wisdom) somehow thought it would be better to ship it to Israel first.

Just got word it's back in Canada and cleared Customs.

Might have endless hot water for my holidays yet!
